Remind me, has Warhammer always been part of the 40k universe as a world seperated from the rest of the universe by ferious warp storms or is that one of the more recent incarnations? =o

The Fantasy Lizardman are supposedly descendants of the Slaan and stuff but as far as things go Tau are the closest actually playable army at the moment so that's why I call them the lizardmen of 40k =3

Zoats were funny... I'm still kinda curious what happened to them and hellbores and mkII spacemarine armour (with the funny knight cone faceplate).
If I remember right weren't genestealers meant to originally be traced to some moon or other that I forget the name of before they finally became attached to the tyranids along with rippers (which used to be native animals on alien planets)?

I've not played Rogue Trader in so long I barely remember it =s
Don't remember the dark eldar though... ~blink~  maybe I just missed them or something.

Sorry Necro... I've been playing GW since the original spacehulk so there's nothing in there you can't tell me about I've not played Except super new stuff like the Lord of the rings thingies or the new 40k.  I've even played the board games like horus heresy and space crusade XD

Dark Eldar is basically them trying to port over the Dark Elves after all the Eldar are the elfen folk of 40k =3

I don't see a Slaan army anywhere so I'm calling tau the lizardmen army and you can't stop me :p

...I miss Man o War and Battlefleet Gothic =(

Back in school some people I knew got blazingly drunk and ran down princess street (a street a full mile in length) all dressed in full stormtrooper gear.  Sadly they did it late at night so it wasn't as funny as them sprinting down the busy streets by light of day but still kinda funny all the same ^^

I've never felt the tau and necrons were really 'true' armies like the others.  The Tau are just the 'lizardmen' equivalent in 40k while necron are supposed to be the undead.
I'd prefer they brought in the crazy squats =3

I had most of my minitures painted and stuff and I got real good at it.  I don't know what 40k or GW is like these days but I'm long past bothering.  If you were gonna bother with tabletop stuff I'd probably go for the less expensive (you don't need anywhere near as many models to play) War Machine.  It's made by a breakaway group who left GW to make their own games and they feature a lot of the better artists; the world/story is pretty neat as is the actual game ^^

Meanwhile for Dawn of War, I'd be happy with eldar but I've always been a tyranid player at heart; speed and melee all the way!!! XD

Yes you can... just not in the shop :p

Shame there's no tyranids, but luckily my other fave: eldar, are in there.
Do they have those metal skeleton thingies? =o

I'd ignore the truck advice ><

To be honest life is just about enjoying yourself.  Getting boozed out on your own in the middle of nowhere is about 50 steps below playing games... why?  Because you're drinking beer in a truck XD
With games you can kill dragons, blow up planets, explore places that couldn't exist in RL... it's all good.

I'd like to try caving though.  I hit a roleplay club every saturday to do some table gaming with a big bunch of people and it's fun.  It's social and it's gaming, what more could you ask for? ^^

Don't forget; games aren't a waste of time.  They're a piece of entertainment; if you have time to wittle away sitting brainlessly infront of a TV (somehow deemed acceptable in society rather than noted as a blatant waste of life) you have time to better spend having a giggle on a game.  If you're watching TV at least do it with friends or something and make sure it's a decent movie/series =3

Also you can get into the games industry so it's not just a hobby it's a potential career  ^_^

Actually I quite like the idea of permadeath!

Face it; without permadeath people always eventually come to a point where death is meaningless.

Think about it...  would lord of the rings have been as good if boromir had just respawned at the nearest life crystal cursing about lost xp?
Would gandalf's fall into the pit with the balrog be even near as dramatic if you knew he'd be in the last town he saved at?

It adds spice and excitement to the game... heck it even adds a bit of history as people discuss the fallen legends of times past =3

Be warned; my attention span is short (especially in testy things) and I'm not much for reading literally ^^;

The answers below are exactly what I read in my mind.

1) I have some money
2) I enjoy eating mangos (massive gap of space where the listener starts feeling oddly uncomfortable) but they give me indigestion
3) The problem with that solution (comma) is that it costs a lot.
4) The thingy variable blah blah... stuff.
5) My groceries cost too much and whine whine moan grump.

ick... don't people listen to the awesome wisdom that is Red versus Blue?

"I think it's very clear you should not get a tattoo, and I can sum up my point in this elegant, but very simple, bulleted list.

Number 1: Tattoos are permanent.
Number 2: You... are a goddamn idiot.

And I'd like to prove this mathematically if I may...
Take your current age.  Now subract 10 years from it.
Were you smart back then?  Of course you weren't!
You were a goddamn idiot!

Fact of the matter is, you're just of big an idiot today; it's just going to take you 10 more years to realise it.  Now think if you'd drawn a picture on your body 10 years ago... would you be happy with it today?
Chances are; you wouldn't be."

Bleh... I've got you beat!
I'm at home instead of work and I can barely type because I fell down the stairs last night while going down to get a drink and slid riiiiiight down.
Surprisingly I was actually ok except I tore lots of skin off the side of my right hand.  No blood or anything because it wasn't deep but it HURTS and moving my pinky is surmount to heavy amounts of pain so touchtyping, moving the mouse and lifting stuff are kinda high on my list of things to avoid doing as much as possible today ^^;

You could've just said britain and avoided years of bitter territorial dispute and cultures striving for recognition =3

And if you'd said scotland I would've made haggis jokes and stuff about you wearing a kilt XD

That's ok... we still have lots of silly laws here in ancient britain that haven't been repealed and are silly.  Like the fact I have a king charles (type of dog)... if I took him to a pub, no matter if it was open or not and regardless of the time, they'd have to let me in for a drink o.O
There's also a fun law about wearing a sword I forget...
