I've been having trouble with the comm chair lately

I'm trying to improve my commanding efficiency by using groups, however, ns isn't very custom-setting friendly.

I use the numpad as my controls (yes, a rarity isn't it, you WSAD freaks :o ), which conviniently places several keys near the usual 8-4-6-2 movement keys.

As many of you know (and for those who don't, take some notes), the key to good marine-ing or general aliening is quick weapon switching.  Holy_Devil uses the leap-bite with deadly efficiency, and i'm sure he has his own way to switch weapons. I have weapon slots 1 - 4 placed near my movement keys for quick efficient weapon switching, however it hinders the ability to make groups, and often i have to ask a fellow res slotter to get in the chair and set general groups for me.

If you can script some stuff out for me, i would appreciate it alot.

This is what i need:

bind "z" to activate "Commander mode" binds:

unbind KP_ENTER
unbind KP_PLUS
unbind KP_PGUP
unbind KP_HOME
bind "1" "slot1"
bind "2" "slot2"
bind "3" "slot3"
bind "4" "slot4"


that should fix the ability to make groups, as i've inquired on this problem before,
and the second

bind "x" to activate "Normal mode" binds:

unbind "1"
unbind "2"
unbind "3"
unbind "4"

I'm an electrification commander.

Usually, its 2 ips, and a elec'd tf as skulk repellant, then for the first 3 minutes of the game, i need res nodes (OMG! NO ARMORY?! NUB CORNMANDORE!).  I electrify the most outward resnodes or nodes nearest to thier hive first, but some special situations warrant an emergency electrification ie. skulks are closing on to the marine guarding that res node.

i stress upgrades, and i always get a1, w1, w2, w3, a2, a3, because armor upgrades give you more bang for your buck, while w2 is a much better investment than a2.

I almost always have 1 digit res, unless i'm saving for something, or my attention is directed elsewhere which warrants more attention than to spending it.

Rambos: love one or two every game, it'll keep the resnode ratio down.

Back-seat commanders:  Commanders knows stuff that marines don't know, but also, Marines know stuff that commanders don't.  Like if 3 marines get owned by a 2-hive Holy_Devil, they know its Holy_Devil, but the commander doesn't always, and he'll scream "NUBS!" and quit the game.  I accept and respect the advice of my marines, but of course there are limits; The commander is still the commander, and the grunt is still the grunt.

equipment distrobution:  Shottys are good enough, why hmg when you can have 3 shotguns?  Also, if res is low, the better players/players who listen get the stuff first, not as a reward of some sort, but you know that stuff is being put to better use.

Strategy:  Never let them breathe.  If they have time to munch on resnodes, or munch on your cc, then you're not pressuring them hard enough.  Keep moving forward, gaining ground, and shoot that hive!

knowing the nubcaeks that use that kind of language, there are bound to be spacing mistakes. so you get "id like to killu" which is even worse because you actually have to decypher the message to read it.

who needs ammo when you can die? :D!  rarely do i give ammopacks in the beginning.  They get thier objectives done (mainly get res, defend until elec'd), and thats all i ask of them, staying alive isn't one of them D:.

besides, the reduced humpage is a godsend for fast res rush.

i'm a electrifying comm, so i need that tf.  first 3 minutes of the game i only have 2 ips, and an electrified tf.  without that ele'd tf, my base would be defenseless.  But after that, i spread everything out, because if that lone skulk has enough time to come into your base and start chomping on your armory and obs, then its a sign that you're not pushing them hard enough, and that your most likely dead, and that stuffing your base into an area of 2m^2 isn't going to help it any further.

Mines are also not quite that good.

Armory (20, 25 res i think) + mines (10 res) gives you a quick 30 - 35 res defense against skulks.  However, then you have armory humping which will kill the teamwork of the whole game.  I find that once i build an armory, my team hardly listen to "PHASE THROUGH!" and "SAVE DOUBLE RES!".  The only reason i build an armory at all is to dispense shotguns, and get armslab and obs.
