Don't know if many of you remember me, but a few days ago I was recalling the many memories I had with NS with a coworker which led me to reminisce about the great times we had on linuxmonster. I see that the forum has been dead, but I figured i'd stop by and say hi to those who may still be around (cant believe I remembered my forum password!) Hope everyone has been doing well over the past 6-7 years and if you happen to have a PS3, although its still down let me know and i'll add ya.  

Ah, I see I made a similar thread 4 years back in Off topic, well then! ill keep this one here anyway

Don't know if any of you remember me, however just stopping in to say hey, whats up and glad to see the LM community survived. I hope all has been well for everyone including the oldies. Ill be seeing ya around. Anyhow to make some sort of topic out of this thread, post how ya been for the past uh... 3-4 years..

Off Topic / Steam blows

so i get a steam ticket error and after restarting, and trying a few methods i decide to log out of steam. well looks like i cant log back in or create a new account. And the email i used was a very old one, one that i havent used for a few years. So steam sends my password to the email account thats probably disabled (msn) i try to re log into my MSN account, and well god knows what i used for that password... so i try to reset it, and MSN sends the email account i cant get into the password information, now i ask how the **** am i supposed to get to that email when i cant LOG IN. Thank you MSN for being the tards of the internets.
Now the only way to get back my account info is if i send in my orignal CD keys to valve via mail. In which i will most likely never recivew mail back/ an answer or ever see my CD key again.

GOOD GAME /end rant


any ideas for this ****ed situation?

id explain what the games all about plus the features they mentioned that will be implimented, but im too lazy to type more but its basically a RTS with ridiculous graphics + a ability to take personal fps command of your units (so i hear)

loads of new units, new abilities, and quite frankly ridiculously balanced.
currently I really dont have time to play since college connection sucks, pledging, and loads of work. but over the summer and this upcomming spring break I will be playing hardcore with comrad XSZ.... so try the mod out and hopefully we could get a few games goin with the community.

Well its quite obvious now that NS is on the verge, or already *dead* in a sense, the css server is only filled with bots and forum replies and topics are beginning to get less and less responses.

So I make this now to ask the question : What now?
and to see who else still actually is alive out there I know real life basically took over most of our time including mine so its understandable. Im just hoping one day the LM community could become active again, those were fun times.

>_<  I noticed now recently every single time some sort of appliance (AC/Dryer, washing machine) goes off my computer screen starts "shaking" and it kills my eyes and makes me dizzy... I degaussed plenty of times but that only seems to help for about a second or two...

I recently uninstalled my old 2003 drivers and installed 2005 ones.

Well being an extreme diehard fan of the Aliens Universe I am never satisfied of what I learn from it and always have the need to find more info. One being an extreme curiosity on the Alien species (Xenomorphs, Internecivus Raptus, Bugs, whatever you call em!)

This Source has had me reading for hours! and has given me a HUGE variety of really cool facts on the lifecycle, uses of certain body parts, dna, etc of the Alien species which is freakin awesome. It also answered alot of questions and skeptical info. Now the author of these "essays" has backed up material which proves he has done his homework and achieved his masters degree :-P, hell it seems he can teach a goddamn class all year long on it as if these things truely exist! There is many pictures to give visuals as well as clips from the Movies to more clearly specify what hes explianing


Definetly a primary source for those intrested in the whole Xenomorph  species  :cool:

Go here and check it out, he was the lead singer from the band Stage and after they broke up he went solo.

After he personally sent me a sample CD as well as a very touching personal letter I figured the least I could do is share his music with as many as people as possible Hes somewhat Local.

View his music player, I quite have to say hes one of the best I have ever heard from a Solo artist. (then again since he lives in the town next to me, you dont have to take my opinion on it)

The songs are mellow and relaxing

it's piano, vocals and I think some violin in a song or two.  I figured id share this with the LM community

let me know what you all think of him

This game is finally near release and has a demo (goole the demo, the demo is not available at their site for some weird reason, or at least I couldn't find it there)

I was just wondering what all of your takes of it are / to try out the demo. I think this game has potential, graphics are beautiful and the gameplay with 3d "realistic" enviornments between battles on land and sea along with the 1 player "total war" style conquest. *EDIT* There is no lag at all while playing this game on my video card.. ftw *

Knights Online

looks pretty sweet, supposidly its free to play but you are given options to buy premium accounts later on in the game if you want more options and stuff. Im gonna give this game a try though I am skeptical that it might only be a 14 day free trial regardless what they say...

So basically this thread is for Mapping Ideas. Don't know how to map? well why not come up with ideas that might strike intrest in a fellow LM mapper. Also it would be wise to post suggestions here and get some advice for the idea on balance / gameplay  before attempting your luck in the opitamy of the ns.org forums.


Feel free to post images...drawings... concept art.. and even backstories

Let's see where this takes us.. im sure we'll get some pretty sweet ideas.
