Try the Kingdom of Loathing if you wanna smirk while you play.

It's a browser based game. You get 40 turns a day to mob about the kingdom doing/killing/finding stuff. Pixelated stick figure art, good player base, and humerous undertones. Lots of inside jokes only RPG gamers would get.

Sadly, there's no direct player interaction in the game world. You can buy from and trade with other players, raid their camps, join a clan and wage war, but you won't ever see another player. But, it's fun and free.

I'm Scuz on there. If anyone wants to sign up, drop me a note and I'll hook you up with some freebies.

I also wish I could play NS... right... now...

I thought it was very well done. I loved Scarecrow!

I must admit I laughed pretty hard near the beggining. He's all "I will not kill this mudering farmer dude!"

Then he kills a dozen ninjas, his master, almost kills his 'friend,' and then to top it off. the farmer. I mean c'mon, the farmer gets blown up, burned, the building collapsed, and then he's shirtless and chained on top of the mountain.

I laughed at the double slap part too. Good ****!

Also was that Moff Tarkin with the slightly less skull face stood next to Vader and the Emperor at the end?

Yea it was. Did you notice he was CGI from the neck up (at least)? Either that actor passed away, or there simply isn't makeup technology to make an old man from 20 years ago appear 20 years younger than that now. Essentially, it'd have to be a convincing 40 year make over! Hope you're following me here...

And I was under the impression that every storm trooper is a clone. Someone with more info correct me if need be!

Saw it tonight, a bit late... but pretty good! A big improvement over the first two. Jarjar didn't say a word! I was tickled.

Notice as we progress to the future episodes, the suckage goes down proportionatley. I mean, the second half (or even last third) of this movie was actually GOOD! See how that works?

Off Topic / Explain Your Name
« on: June 04, 2005, 01:01:42 PM »
When I fist started playing Starcraft online, I used the name Buzzsaw. A violent power tool, and nobody else had the name yet.

When I graduated to Broodwar and other games, I was already bored of it. The name generation came about like this:

My buddies and I were playing Monopoly while halfway watching some movie. Now, my personal favorite Monopoly move is to set up the reds and oranges. They always seem to work well, but I always end up losing anyway. Right as my friend landed on my hotel'd space, one of the characters onscreen yelled "You damned scuzball!" The name stuck. Used it ever since, across Broodwars, Duke3d, TFC, Warcraft 3, World of Warcraft, and of course NS.

That is, until I started playing on LM and came up with Hesitation. I asked myself, what kills me most of the time? What's my weak spot in NS play? Bingo. I kinda like seeing "Hesitation killed NSplayer(1)" the same way I like seeing "Curiosity killed Cat." Get it!?

Now I'm back to Scuzball, mostley because I havn't been able to play NS in sooooo long now. C'mon guys, remember last time you saw Hesi-nub on LM? That was the last time I played NS. I'm too far away from a good computer/internet combo to bother trying again. There've been like 2 or 3 balance patches since then... I wanna play so bad...

*cry cry*

By the way, Monopoly is a terrible game.

I think there's something deeper here, folks.

Imagine an anonymous setting, where you don't know anyone and they know nothing about you.

>_>

Person A: "I KILLED A SLUG TODAY."

<_<
>_>

Person A:"...WELL? HELLO?"

I like my humor.

EDIT: Where do you live, and what the hell kind of slug is that?!?!

Yea. They're bastards all right.

I'm kinda creeped out actually. Almost all of the movies I was going to mention in one light or another... have been spoken for. And then I said, "But what about Jurassic Park?" and scrolled down... yea. Kinda creepy.

Aye... it's the devil...

Me and my roomie split WoW to make up for our guilt. $25 each, and $6 a month makes it... too easy...

I'm sad to say... I havn't played a lick of NS since we installed WoW. It's sad really. I'm gonna have a big comeback, I swear! Be on the lookout!

General / How did the game end?
« on: May 05, 2005, 02:02:19 PM »
I remember this one game where the marines holed up in Biodome hive in an 8v8. Dear god. They all had JP, they all had GL/HMG. Turrets and elect everywhere. They had IP's and armory up on the pillar, basically rebuilt their entire functional base.

And they were asses about it. They had GL tag team spamming both entrances, and HMG/JP gaurding the rest.

We tried mass gorge bile bomb. 4 onos, 2 lerks, 2 gorge. Fade rushes. Gas. Nothing worked.

I was going to win that game. I said to myself, "I'm not going to bed until these asses die under my iron fist of determination."

At 7:30am the next day, I quit. The base was hardly touched. Time: over seven hours. Of JUST me and random newbs flaying at this base.

Yea... the glory days...

This is so frusterating... my computer is dead, and this one is literally too packed with garbage to even install steam...

Tears of sympathy are gladly accepted =__=

General / 3.02 Release
« on: April 04, 2005, 08:07:28 PM »
I like it. A mini boost to the marines is just what we needed. A good marine team could still beat a bad alien team... it was just much harder than it should be. Maybe this will fix things up.

On the topic of PG's, my favorite trick as an alien only works if you have help. There's almost no way that 2 or 3 skulks can take down a PG before the rines pour through, even if it's totally undefended. A competent comm has already beaconed, and the rines are just grabbing 1 or 2 rounds of ammo before flooding into your hive.

So while your friends frantically hit the phase, you climb up the wall. PG's are almost always near a wall or some structure. I hold down bite and aim at the center space above the PG, where the marines will be materializing. Sometimes the comm drops a PG out in the open, in which case I actually jump in place while constantly biting.

This way, as fast as they come through, you bite them at head level, usually even while you're actually a little higher. If they knew skulks were there, 99% of the time they'll be aiming down as they phase. Phasing is disorenting in itself, but getting whacked for 70 damage on top of it makes for easy frags. Not to mention, the PG model itself seems to give some cover at ground level (aka skulk level) for anyone teleporting through.

The last time I did this, it was a phasegate built by a JP'er inside Powersilo hive. I racked up eight frags in a row on W3/A2/JP rines by preemtivley biting everyone who came through while a pair of other skulks hit the PG itself. The disorentation and ambush bite really throw them off, and in that case, saved us the game.

I don't know what I was smoking with that Hesitation crap. It lasted all of a month and a half.

Back to the only name for me! The classic since I discovered teh interwab!

I'm in the process of moving, so I havn't been around the server much (sob sob). 3.02 is out, and I'm literally dying to fight some REAL battles. Now I won't feel so bad about tapping F2 out of instinct when the map loads ^__^
