for WC3 mod you really need a full dedicated CS server, it takes a lot to run it especially if you want the SaveXP feature.

Well sens is all mouse dependant too, like this mouse here I like the sens to be at about 18, but with my optical I am more comfortable at 16. Different mouses different sensitivities!
heh is that like different strokes for different folks  ^_^

General / Fps & Rates
« on: April 27, 2004, 12:04:56 PM »
Borrowed from a friend in another server I play in..  Information supplied by a few CAL-I players and game experience.

rate 25000
cl_updaterate 101
cl_cmdrate 101
fps_max 100

this puts ur updaterate and cmd rate 1 point above ur fps which will get rid of the "catching up effect" of ur frames to outgoing info

some of you your rates may be restricted to 72 or 60 or 85, whatever your monitor refresh rate is at. To be able to have 100 fps max, what you have to do, is go into your video card control panel, and disable the 3 following thigs: vsync, antialiasing and anisotropic filtering.

Also: Max_shells 1, Max_smokepuffs 1 -- This helps ping, lag, and FPS

Do not try to get where your FPS is over 100. If you do, the game becomes VERY inconsistant. 100FPS is all you need and nothing more.

Do not try to edit the rate settings in your config.cfg file while your playing the game. Either enter them in the console or exit CS and edit your config.cfg file.

The three video settings (vsync, antialiasing, and anisotropic) are located in your display properties. Generally on the Nvidia or ATI tab. You might have to look around.

Hope this helps you guys out  :D

mastering the single burst is hard though, if you can get it down to neck and head against your opponents it will be well worth it.  the bad thing about learning spray and being good with it is you run out of ammo very quickly.  spraying through the door of aztec for example or the garage of office.

I'll let you in on a few of my secrets..

1.  AK47 - short round bursts depending on distance..  long long range cut it down to single round bursts usually aiming for neck or head.  semi long range you can do a 2-3 round burst aiming for upper-chest or neck.  close range learning to control the AK spray is somthing that takes a LONG time to master, but once you get it down you can do about a 6-10 round spray and pwn.

2. M4A1 - it goes about the game as the AK short round bursts for long range, upclose spraying is like a 12-15 round spray because the gun is way accurate for spray.  any longer distance i'd suggest 1-5 round bursts whichever you feel more comfortable with.

3.  When using the AK/M4A1 learning to strafe walk can help your aim at first..  when you strafe walk side to side using the AK or M4A1 your crosshair will not widen like when you're running side to side, this also works with the scout.

4.  as far as SMGs go, each have different recoils and bursts that can be applied for long range, upclose they are pretty much spray machines.  its all just a matter learning the recoil for the guns.

Thats about all the insight I care to share right now  B)

to have an accurate shot with an awp you have to stand completely still or come to a complete stop.  Scout on the other hand is a lot more accurate even while you're walk strafing, thus giving it an advantage over the awp.  Not to mention you can also no scope people with the scout a lot easier, and move faster with the scout drawn as opposed to the awp which you move like a snail.  And the awp isn't always a one hit kill..  if its not chest or head they don't die..  legs, arms, hands, feet are not kill shots..  they will drop you to about 10-25 life but its not a one shot kill always.

Honestly how many people do you think play CS and make maps?

And then how many people play NS and make maps?

That should give you some idea why the CS community is flooded with crappy maps, and horrible remake maps.

you're basing NS which is like a multi person extremely team driven game against CS a rambo bunny hopping game.

NS maps have to be pretty and complex, who would want to play in a big open room full of aliens and marines?

And besides most people who play CS aren't looking for pretty textures or anything like that, they just want death and destruction..  And to see how many nade kills they can get with one HE.
