They stand still and wear hoodies. You will find them in the grove street area.
I recommend completing the 8-Track race in the stadium in first city. You unlock the monster truck which is my current favourite vehicle.
Its brilliant for smashing cars off the road, it can drive up very steel slops and over brick walls. Its the perfect off-road vehicle to roam the countryside. Also instead of a hand break, the back axels turns, so you can pull awesome donuts. The only downside is that not all garages can fit it. I ended up keeping one in my Mulholland garage as its suited to the hilly areas.
The 8-Track is hard, but its worth completing to get unlimited access to the Monster (its always parked outside stadium) . The only other way of getting it is by unlocking it from the San Fierro dock, then buying it on the right day.
Tips for completing the 8 track:
- Damage is your main enemy. I've never lost the race due to being slow, always by my car being destroyed.
- Let the A.I cars infront when the race starts, 100% of the time there will be a huge pile up at the first corner. Drive careful and avoid this to gain a hige advantage.
- Dont hit the side of the track, just drive careful and you will eventually overtake all the racers and win comfortably.
- Once your infront its easy to stay infront, as long as you dont crash.

I think its just a reflection of the game as a whole.
The updates to the game are less frequent and smaller. Less change = game becomes stale = interest level decreases. Games tend to play out quite predictably as people have settled into mc/dc/sc. Therea big rift between the experienced and inexperienced as the casual skilled players drop off leaving only newbies and diehards remaining.
Also tking the hive to use the mc ability is an issue. It skews the win/loss ratio even futher towards the Aliens. They dont need to fight very hard for map control anymore.
I find myself quitting out of extreme flustration more frequently than i used to, on all servers.

I'd def buy the full game for that!.
If thats not gonna be possible, maybe we should wear "BF" tags in irc to show we are ready for a game, then meet up in the channel and hit the pubs. Shouldnt be hard to find a 64 player server with enough free slots.

I wanna play BF2 with you guys. The one time where i played with someone who communicated it was a complete blast. We did loads of driver-gunner runs, and then later on foot, one medic, one support (potentually unlimited health and ammo).
Get X-Fire, and then we can meet up in the game easily.

Being playing on it for 6 months on PS2 and still quite a while off completing (about halfway through the 3rd city). Theres tons of missions and minigames, but i spend the majority of my time just exploring around, killing random people and joyriding.
The most anoying thing when you first start playing is having low skill levels with everything and no access to most of the shops until certain missions have been completed.
If you havent got access to the ammunation shops yet, you will find a Micro-SMG and Armour just east of you starting house (under the bridges in the concrete channel). Theres also a pistol behind the house in the north-east corner of your street. I found these collectables very useful for missions where you invariably end up having to kill people.
Fun things to try:
Car surfing. Stand ontop of an occupied vehicle and fire a weapon, then try and stay on for as long as possible as the paniced driver tries to get away! If you dont have a weapon you can just stamp on it with your feet (using attack). Keep stamping and the car blows up
Bike Wheelie. Hold back while accerating. This might be harder to do with keyboard keys, you might have to tap it.
Bike Stoppie. While moving quite fast, press break, then release and lean forward to ride on the front wheel.
Ride on the train roof. Park a car on the platform and use it as a boost to climb up onto the train roof for a scenic ride and a nice drive-by platform Theres also a flatbed train thats easier to get onto.

Although i love NS in its own right, its the community element that kept me here for so long.

Just got off a game where we killed all alien nodes within 3 minutes (sans hive node) then they just put up a hive, TDed constantly to defend then once it was up.
