LIES!
(I stole my link from fark.com, and I happily admit to it. YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE!)
ever heard of the echillies heel? or however it's speltI'm afraid to tell you, but you're completely wrong on that origin. It's called the Achilles heel because it was the only place on his body that was vulnerable to attack. His mother, a river goddess, dipped him in the river Styx as a newborn to make him invulnerable. But the spot on the heel where her hand was holding him didn't get wet. Therefore Paris was able to kill Achilles by finding out his secret vulnerability and shooting an arrow there.
even the cyclops was killed because they rushed him and undid a screw in his heel draining his blood.
IRL if you are shot in the echillies heel you will not be able to put any weight on that leg at all and will suffer tramatic bleeding.
so in greek lit the echillies heel was named to be the weakest spot on a soilder slashing it once would ground you opponant and offent lead to a easy kill.
Troy, not Troja. And it was a poisoned arrow.QuoteIf you ask me, Achilles was the biggest wuss EVAR. He gets hit in the heel by an arrow and dies. No wonder Troja could withstand the siege for ten years.i was wondering where that expression came from and what i meant.
