So what if I relocate to somewhere where noone ever has before?
How do you think any of the current "good" relocations came about?
So what if we loose a round? Most of the relocations I can win, so stop complaining already!!!!
-
I have fun spawning in odd places :)
Especially when it's in some location that leaves me stranded, only to sit there and shoot at the skulks on the far away walkway (think of the ledge across the res node over the endless pyet of dewm on caged)
-
i could care less where we locate cause after all it isn't up to the grunt it is up to teh com in the end ;)
keep up the good work dev
-
i love weird relocs , saltz used to reloc to random places all the time ...
-
Never bothered me either. Station Access Alpha for the win!!
-
I love crazy relocs, especially on veil.
-
Ahh, I love relocating, but often times my marines wander off before I get in the chair. I totally support relocating. <3
-
Odd relocations always add new flavor to a game of NS. Just as long as the Comm realizes that beacon sends you to the MS not the relocated spot.

My ribbing you the other day for relocating to the Sat Comm hallway on Tanith was all joking around, devicenull. ;) Sorry if I offended you. :(
-
Every game dev comms, I just ask, "Where are we going?"
-
Relocating used to be the only thing that kept me amused comming in 2.01. It's too bad bacon makes it not quite as effective. Still, I will support any relocation, no matter how much of a military blunder!
-
i'll support any nefarious and devious crazy relocation, as long as it's supported with the appropriate amount of RAGE!! ;)
altho.. i haven't relocated forever, i just lurve the beacon too much!
-
at first i was annoyed at device's annoying relocations, but then i realized its a challenge for the marines, and its fun too. So yah *joins kharaa and begins to wonder where device will be this game, maybe he will relocate in our hive this game*

Thats the best part!
/me sees onos destroying MS node
/me hits bacon
*onos gets obliderated*
Onos: WTF?!
I also like relocating, controlling the nodes by the relocation, and beaconing my marines back whenever I want to re-cap/save the nodes by MS. Good stuff. Pretty hard to defend though, nothing some late game turrets can't fix. :p

Yeah, that happened to me one time... but we had lost all our hives and i was goin through MS in hera to jump from the Landing Pad, suddenly 8 Marines carrying HMG's appear and ...well...
*cries*
-
I love it when the marines have relocated and you are putting up the MS RT and the Marines beacon ^_^
Scares the ^^ outta you.
And weird relocs is what keeps NS alive!!!! >:D
-
Yea theres lots of rage invloved usually >:D

hahaha, yeah, definitely happened to me several times before...

Weird reloc are the best by far. Generally because they aren't used... and if they aren't used, chances are the alien team doesn't have too much experiance dealing with them.. Which gives the marines an edge.
The ones commonly thought of as "the best" probably aren't. I mean, most are double nodes which are near impossible to properly defend or areas near or in hives, which are often sided for the aliens as they are on the alien side of the map.
Reloc 1: Atmos on bast. Lets face it, everyone relocates there at least once. Aliens are used to it and probably have a fairly good idea of how to go about dealing with it by now. Marines set up base, but are unable to take Feed properly. They get pwned. Game time 15 minutes.
Reloc 2: The vents west(?) of MS on bast, going towards Feedwater. They aren't common for a marine relocation, yet I have seen marines with out hmgs, sg or pretty much anything short of an armslab put up a very good fight spanning from 30 to 60 minutes in there against 3 hive aliens.. and it was a last chance relocation. There was a good 30 minutes of fighting before hand.
Now, in both situations the marines lost. But, they were able to survive a lot longer in the vents than in Atmos, although the vents are not very close to many res nodes, they still served for great natural defence against the aliens. Most of the time with the aliens forced to come through long, narrow openingings to get to the marine base.

You can keep relocating as much as you want, I won't complain, it adds some spice to the game. However, during the game, I like to give feedback on the location that you relocated to. :)
Right now I am more into practicing my aim as a marine, but I guess I'll hop in the chair a little more in the close future.
-
Relocate to main aft on bast if you're going to relocate anywhere.
-
Main aft = win.
I won't complain, but I do ask that you strategically look at the location first. I mean the relocation to west access on tanith. That had NO potential... Twas a good try, but we knew it was over from the start. At least try to find a spot with strategic capabilities.
-
I love the Relocats a ton They are funny especcially when we kinda Hide out From em >:D also it makes the aliens work harder for their res cuz they dont know where we are since they think we still at MS hehe keep it up Device!!
-
Once we moved under some elevator somewhere and the aliens couldnt find us for evar! It was dark and we had lined the floor practicly with mines so that none could get in :D. Then until they found us, gorges starting bile bombing from on top and the elevator wouldnt stop going up and down, lol it was crazy. Mr.Bill could clarify on this, he was comm that time I 'think'.
-
rad4Christ,May 11 2004, 08:16 AM] Main aft = win.
The only problem with main aft reloc is a lot of players will start heading to double before anyone even gets in the chair... :\
-
Relocate to the little bomb shelter on Mineshaft...
-
yeah tooky's right, relocating under elevators is just plain fun.
One game I managed to relocate I think it was, 3 or 4 times (that same game actualy :) ) the elevator was our last stand (and a damn good one!)
Usual, when nobody wants to comm and practically force me into the chair I'll think of odd places to relocate, jsut to piss em off if I can.
(most of those games marines arn't really "into" so your lost anyway, I mean honestly if you dont got a comm withint the first min or 2, with a team THAT bad your screwed, and we were many times over :) )
Relocation = best.
-
Especially fun relocations where most of the alien team doesn't have a pre-made strategy for digging you out.

what the hell are you talking about uranium?
-
There is a little vent connecting generator and the hallway to the upper right hive.
Its small and marines can easily access it if they crouch.
i beleive tyhis is what uranium is talkngi about

haha, the whole team was hiding there. then a fade found us. we tried to knife it, and failed.

Eeew, the one who took that screenshot really needs to turn in "glmaxsize_512" :x

eww Lito uses those camo marines? they look like cartoons! Loony Toon like!. Anyhow the best relocation is in ns_bast down right before the cockpit the pit of dewm, the small little ledge ^^ total ownage. Especially when hive 3 goes uip, and 1 skulk xenocides in the middle of the marines sending all 7 off the small platform to their deaths!
-

That would be lost -- assuming you are referring to "Eternal Requiem"
Caged doesn't have anything like that.
-
i miss lost, i liked that map.
anyway, yes, relocation for the win. especially the really odd ones, no matter what happens, it seems to be funny in those kinds of situations.
mmm EM DRILL SHAFT FOR THE WIN!
-
man, i can't remember the last time i relocated.. well, hera, sometimes. but mostlyi just love my bacon so much. so crispy, so autoteleportationiliscious!
-
i personally like the relocate to an active hive cause if it is done effectively it works well and is fun for the spawning rines since when they spawn they will most definitely have something to attack. B) i've only seen this work once or twice though. <_<
-
Dev's relocates are the best! Not only do we get a hard-fought battle (sometimes hard to come by) but at least we know that not everything is as overly serious, and can sit back and enjoy the game!
