I like these changes :) Might make NS even more balanced. Not totally, no, that could never be fixed in a server-side patch. But I think it's moving closer... good job to NS devs :)

Increased gestation, nice, should stop those situations where aliens are stopping to gestate before rushing rines on the doorstep of the hive.

Doubling the ammo is good, I usually hang around to double my clip anyway, so this certainly saves on my startup. Interesting to see the decrease of adv arm research time, perhaps bigger guns faster? Not too sure about longer adv research times, tbh I cant get JPs fast enough in most games.

Siege damage will be a very popular change, especially since hives can be rendered immortal by two adrenheal gorges on top of it.

It's all gravy.. the reduction in AA time should more than make up for the increases on HA/JP.

The 2-3 second gestation thing I really don't think will make much of a difference seriouly. That'll be more of an annoyance than anything else when playing aliens and I don't see still don't see it balancing out midgame and the free upgrade issue.. but oh well, it's a start.

That ammo thing is so crucial it's not even funny.. I'd even go so far as to hope they add 1 clips for any gun you purchase (shottie(8)/gl(4)/hmg(125)) in the future. Just for sake of rushing once a pg is up so people don't get their guns and hump before phasing.

All around, very good patch.. for now.

Wow, this looks really good.  (except the upgrade gestation time =\ )  I think the extra ammo will be HUGE!

Im really interested to see how much this changes the marine/alien win ratio on LM.

I actually like the changes. Ammo thing will be really nice for marines that like to rush out of base at the start of a game.

To combat the entire alien team healing the hive, you still need 100 sieges.

The gestation increase is good.  One time a Onos evolved an upgrade right in front of me and my lmg couldnt take him down fast enough before he was onos again.  :help:

Balancing a game is like tuning a car:
If you start off wrong you'll eventually just have to go back and do it all again.
After numerous corrections, you get to a point and start guessing.
--if i knew more about tuning cars i would prolly put more semi-humorous similarities between balancing a game and tuning a car but overall you'd prolly only read the first and the last line.

I can see the developers in game playing around and then all of a sudden one goes
Dev1 "Lets make alien gestate time LONGER!"
Dev 2 "Ah, Yes mate, thats the way!"
Dev 3 "Wait thats not enough, Lets GIVE MARINES more ammo at spawn so they can...."
Dev 4 "SO THEY CAN SHOOT STUFF!"
Dev 3 "OH YEA, shooting stuff is awesome!"
Dev 2 "I wish they'd shoot those people owning Gamesurge"
Dev 1 "No doubt man, all is lost without Gamesurge."

Well, from what I played last night, one team more competent than the other wins outright, but if the skill/competency is equal, aliens are still biased, and even if the aliens are at a slight handicap, perseverence brings a win.


All in all, slightly better, but still alien sided.

The biggest change I've noticed is that the team I'm on seems to lose more now.

I found that too lolfighter.. it was like no matter what team I played for we had no chance of victory it seemed. I told myself I'd keep playing until I was on a winning team, and that seemed to take like 10 games :S
