Title: Tourney?

Lets say we have a tournament. Admins split up one by one and choose even teams, from their perspective, since most admins have picked up on regulars playing habits, and we have say a week of matches with a big finale?
Perhaps at the start of a game, a 5- 10 min hault in the start to discuss a stragegy, then go all out till you win. Just thinking that this is a good way to have some great competitive matches, and boost moral around the server, as of late i've noticed many people more edgy and irritable, possibly due to the season changing but none the less i wont divulge into something that clearly isnt my buisness.
I know this would be something that would probably need alot of planning before hand but i think it would be great, and im more than willing to help out in any way possible.
Since this would be organized on the admins and our time, with how much we play in the server or contribute to the forums or irc, ect, im not expecting even many replys to this lol. I bring this up because i think we'd have some very memorable matches with the people we have on this server, learn some new strats that we can use in regular matches. I'm just throwing a thought out there, wondering what everyone else thinks of this idea?

Sounds good to me. Although, I did like that hide and seek a lot.. I think that may be more fun than competing.

You know I'm in. I kinda doubt that we have enough slotters to do more then 2, maby 3 teams, so maby we should hold sign ups for comunity regs who want in.

That being said i have no idea where this could be thrown to by an admin, but i wanted the non-reserved LM players to see this as well, since i feel there are alot of them who are great players when they're here and would only be fair to do so.

I'd be up depending on when the games are to be played, provided this isn't rs only. I know there's a lot of uhh.. multi-national gamers who play here (maybe I'm wrong) so timezones could be an issue.
I've done this on 2 pub CS servers and had a blast, neither tourney finished unfortunately but the games that were played were a awesome. It takes an insane amount of organization to pull of but mainly dedication of players. The reason one of the tourneys never got off on the right foot is because people signed up and come match time (which they agreed to) maybe 1/2 the team showed up. You can't exactly punish people in a private tourney like that, so for the people you invite you need to be sure they're taking it seriously.
Another issue is the status of "regulars".. I was playing on a 32 man CS pub and we originally said that as long as the team roster consisted of 2-3 regulars (5 total), you could have other people fill the rest. Next thing you know we had cal-main players ringing and stuff and it can get out of hand.
Just trying to give a heads up if you do go through with this as I'm sure it would be a blast!

Monkey... take this idea and run. Work out the details, signups, schedules and such and there's bound to be an admin available to change the server to tourney mode and lock it down whatnot. Heck, I'd want on a team if one would have me :p

I'd say we need more people agreeing to play first before moving on :) I'll be back from Vancouver in a week (leaving tomorrow morning), I better see 10+ pages of people saying "I'm in" :D
