Title: Winning base setup
Post by: Manta on April 30, 2005, 09:35:45 PM
We started a game on ns_lost and nobody else would comm. As is the custom for Manta-commed games, we ended up losing what hives and RTs we had, leading up to a final holdout in base.

Pictured below is the ingenious base layout with which we killed almost one alien.

Also pictured is Az, running around, demanding a gun.

Belive it or not those two PGs threw a few of us aliens off for a second.  I faded around to all the hives because I thought with the active PG you must have had a ninja somewhere.

Ah yes, a good strategy.. to trick aliens into delaying your inevitable doom. Just be glad Az was on your team, and not playing on alien as the terrible.. the fercious.. !!!! No no, I dare not complete that thought, for fear of invoking his wrath.

That setup used to be so much better on the old ns_veil. I miss the big platform in the back of the base :(

Ahh I remember that game.  Personally I thought we could have done with the PGs a little further apart in base, but then we did what we could.  :)

Oneese don't bhop so well... I can manage an ok ducking Bhop, but ducking bhops are kind of gross in HL because ducking screws up your air accel...  Without ducking you just bang into stuff way too often for a bhop to be realistic.

QFT. The only reason bhop is still in the game is because the NS devs are too lazy to replace it with another movement maneuver that is requires some skill and is semi-realistic.
