Title: Help With Worldcraft
Post by: Satiagraha on September 27, 2004, 05:55:57 PM
For some reason, worldcraft crashes when I tell it to run the functions to compile a map. It doesn't even begin the first fuction before Worldcraft crashes and I'm back at my desktop. It does this no matter what compiling tools I'm using (I've tried ZHLT and the default compiling tools, both with the same result). And I've tried reinstalling WC.

Any suggestions?

Yeah, use the batch compiler.  It's really nice.

And set up according to yon thread (http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=50171) on the ns forums.

Ok, I have BC working and whatnot, it's just that I need the bcs file that they link to in that thread
when I LD that one, it gives me errors when I try to load it in BC

I've successfully compiled some test maps with BC though :)

http://bob.thezazi.net/Zoners (http://bob.thezazi.net/Zoners) Custom Build Backup HLFix OptPlns.bcs

Ignore the fact that the stupid forum software wants to make half of that into a URL and the other half not. Just copy and paste the whole thing to download it. (Actually, you'll get it in a text file, which you can save or copy and paste and save or whatever)

Same Error. Am I using the same BC version as you? I'm using the one that the NS Thread linked to.

This is the error window that pops up when I try to activate the spec file.

How are you going about activating it? Just clicking it in the spec drop down menu?

Yep. Copy the file to the specs folder in teh BC directory. Run BC. Click on the Specs menu. Click on the <.bcs filename here> menu item. Get that error.

Well, I've given up on the spec file that has been mentioned, I'm just using 'Zoners Tools Normal'.

Could somebody please try rendering a 32 sided cylinder? (34 including the top and bottom as sides). If it works, send me the rmf so I can try to compile it (or just the .map). It tells me that 32 sides is too many polys on an end-cap of a high-poly cylinder, it says that 32 is > than max, yet WC accepts 32.
