I like it, though the lack of good maps might make it die really fast.

Its hard for beginners, but some get used to it faster than others.

Lots of poor design decisions/bugs annoy me like hell.  Especially when the camera randomly switches at the beginning of the next race.

Really not much to elaborate on right now, but in general I like it.

i like it. It's a nice change of pace from games where the goal is to kill/destroy something. besides, racing games are fun, especially ones with bugs!

we need to have a way to change the map... loses fun when you play the same one over and over.

Someone needs to make a stuntmap, filled with ramps, fire, loops, and other fine pieces of furniture you might find in an airport lobby.

Denzil said there would be a map pack with about 10 maps in it coming out soon  :)

Sweeet  :D

I think I'm a fan :)  Despite having somehow made it through 2 hours alone with otto on the same damn map, I still want to play more.  My biggest problem would be the traction - sometimes, getting into a slide (especially down a hill) can be horribly destructive to your game.  Or maybe there's a simple way to pull out of them - if there is, I'm all ears :)

It's fun but I'm not horribly impressed for a game that's been in production for so incredibly long. I've heard there were problems with code theft and having to restart from scratch and so on, and I'm willing to give them credit for that. But still... less work on pretty chrome and dust effects and more on gameplay affecting things like traction (I LOVE sliding down hills sideways!) or camera angles that don't suck (thanks for starting me in the camera-on-the-side-of-the-car view again, I know EVERYONE uses that all the time!) would have made it a lot more playable. And what's up with confusing upgrades that you can rebuy over and over for no apparent reason? And how hard would it be to code in a list of what you've already bought?

Anyway, yeah. Polished in the places that should be rough, and rough in the places that should be polished. Right now I see potential, but I hope the patches start flowing quickly.

Edit: Also, what IS up with the length of the maps? Is the built in round timer not working? Or is it just something screwy in the server setup? Sometimes they seem to last a half hour or so, and sometimes I see the same map for three or four HOURS and then it goes to another, and then right back to the first map again. AAAGH!

Elaborate some? What is is that you don't like? Just don't like racing games, or just don't like this racing game? Don't like the implementation, don't like the bugs, don't like people asking a lot of questions? What?

Don't like sliding sideways down a pavement hill like a pat of butter on a hot grill :p

never had the problem... maybe because when i first joined i was told right away to buy better tires unless I like spinning.  :)

Even with the best tires and the strongest engine, if you lose your speed on a steep hill there's nothing you can do about it. Try it some time. Just go in, find a hill, and stop halfway up. Now watch as you slide backwards down the hill SO FAST that it usually causes your car to spin out.

Ugh.

They've said they have problems with the traction system (clearly) so hopefully this will be fixed in later betas.

ThoraX: I bought better tires right away, too... since it was all I could afford. :D  Even with Rally tires, traction is some kind of on-again off-again Schroedinger's Cat like quantum effect in HL Rally world... blink and it disappears.

I have never once gone above 20 fps, most of the time it's 4.  I repeatedly get stuck in a wall and then try to back out, and spin out more, then repeat the process repeatedly until time runs out.
