So i walk into a convinience store to cut through it to get to the bus station and i see two kid at the counter wit a coke and candy bar each. Now that convinience store is a down-right ripoff. It came out to something around 7 dollars something CAD.
So the kids stick thier hands in thier pockets, grab out any spare change. They didn't have enough.
So one kids like "Oh, i've got a debit card" So he reaches into his wallet, pulls out a red plastic card and gives it to the clerk. The clerk swipes the card, and there isn't enough on it to get them the goods.
So, without a thought of actually leaving the stuff there and not buying it, the kids give the clerk ALL thier change AND asks her to take the rest off the debit card.
That means 7-some dollars + 3-dollar debit card fee, making the grand total to atleast $10. The kids walk outside with a candy bar and a coke each, pretty pleased with themselves with solving that financial problem.

good lord... I dont eat that crap anyway... but if i did, Id be like... oh well, not enough money, no coke...

Exactly
Or I'd walk outside and grab one of those cheap clone-brand cokes from the 25 cent soda machine

Good for them, their stupidity helps the economy.

Kids are silly. :p

Debit card fee? What the hell is a debit card fee? Where I live, paying with a debit card is just like writing a check.
-
Ouch, talk about a waste of money -_-.

some debit cards do charge a fee to use it though not very often here in texas will one see such a fee cause as you said it is just like writing a check <_<
-
id throw a flash grenade at the clerk so he goes blind, throw a cantalope at the camera to break it, then run out while laughing evilily >:D

Those debit card (and thusly bank) companies are 'teh suck'. How fitting it was Canadian :D
-
everything costs money. You think banks provide these services just because they like you? Credit card companies are the same, only they charge the store a little more, not you.
-
that is why you bank with a credit union and not an actual bank since they don't have those crazy bank charges

Heh, I was out on a 20 mile bike trip once, and I got thirsty. So I stopped into the local grocery store and looked at soda. It hit me that it was insane to purchase a 20oz bottle of pepsi for US$1.25 when you could buy 67.6oz (2 liters for all of you who don't know :p ) for US$0.89! I ended up walking out of the store with a 2 liter of pepsi with half of it emptied into my secondary water bottle
and yes, I do know that soda makes you thirstier, but it was towards the end of my trip and I was almost home and that pepsi bottle was just glaring at me with all of it's refreshing goodness :D
-
so, what, you drank half and got half into the bottle?
-
$3 debit card fee? That's crazy! There's a $.50 fee every time someone uses a debit card here, that's a lot more fair... If the kids were near me in the store I'm in, I'd have probably just paid the different for them. Geez.

so, what, you drank half and got half into the bottle?
heh, just about :D
And it was mmm mmm good!
-
what kinda stupid parent gives stupid kids like this debit cards to begin with =p
