Java is teh bl0k0rd at school. Which is the only place I'd use Java IRC for.

Well that isn't true, Java works but, the filter gets rid of anything that says "Chat or IRC" I'm screwed at school. And Caffine-Powered is dead.  <_<

They are probably blocking off the IRC port 6667 if you can't connect at school. Time to get some good proxies that work on port 80 for your PC.

Screw Java Irc!!! I downloaded Hydra and installed it on my school folder. not that it realy matters anyway... seeeing as i get off of school before noon every day :-)

both PHLAK (http://www.phlak.org/modules/news/) and KNOPPIX (http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html) come with x-chat on them (and gaim as a bonus)
x-chat == irc
gaim == aim+msn+icq+y! (trillian for linux)
