Title: How Have You Customized Your Mp Apps?
Post by: That Annoying Kid on February 02, 2004, 02:00:32 PM
well, I'm bored during cisco, and after seeing esuna's lovely pink setup it got me wondering how you have customized your own audio/visual playing applications [skins, plugins, etc]

to get the ball rolling here is my wizamp:

Skin: NS amp 2.0
plugins: X-plugin, and the plugin that gives a play control toolbar in every windows window

why you would have speakers covering everything is completely beyond me, but the plugins sound cool.  I need the second one you spoke of, and what does x-plugin do?

I have a nice skin Mr. Mojo showed me, it are top of pwn.  It comes with about 50 different color schemes, too.

I use Windows Media Player, standard, no skins or plugins of any sort.  That is because I like to listen to music with the player minimized to that tiny little thing on my taskbar, not have some monstrosity sprawled all over my screen.  But that may just be me.

x-plugin displays the speakers. its not a skin, the speakers are moveable and animated.

correct you are BM

the speakers bump as if they were actuall speakers!

wewt

and if I'm actually doing cisco I take the JHunz route and deactivate the X-plugin

I forgot the name of the toolbar plugin but I will look it up

I've never heard of what you blotted out, but it's really not that hard to figure it out :D

Heh, yeah, their name is a little offensive so i decided to censor it. AC, as they're otherwise known as, are probably the worst signed band ever. Their tracks are rarely over 1 minute long, and rarely have much tune or anything. It's all just noise and screaming. It's bloody great. Ontop of that, nearly all of their songs have offensive song titles, for no other reason than to be offensive.

I use DeliPlayer (http://www.deliplayer.com/), a nice little free soundtracker. It plays almost any kind of music file I've ever encountered (with the exception of .wma and midis (and why it doesn't play midis is beyond me)), and it features the nice, slim and trim industrial look of the windows interface. It DOES come with a skinable player module, but I prefer to use the normal, bland-looking, low-memory-footprint classic player module. Did I mention the streamrecorder (shareware) that allows conversion of any kind of file to .wav?

Edit: To answer the original question: Not much really.

Well, my Winamp is pretty simply setup, I use 2.x, advanced crossfading plug-in, and Tripex Visualizations. And this is how my winamp always looks (for about 2 years now at least...).

Winamp 2.x, using the EdgeAMP skin.

The song list is only my Linkin Park set, I have 20-30 Playlists, including an Omnia Sondit.

A*al C*nt is a band that I never thought anybody out of the crappy local metal clique in new Jersey would know about.  To be perfectly honest, i have no idea how someone in the ol' UK even heard of them  :p   That was a bit of a shock.

But now to the topic at hand - here's my minimalist winamp skin (which I'm sure you've all seen before as it's a bit of a popular skin):

They're pretty much well known to death metal fans all over the globe, surprisingly. Being on Earache kinda helps with that too since it's a pretty mainstream metal label. But other than that, i've heard more obscure and underground death metal bands than most people would imagine even exist. :)

To sum me up, a friend of mine once said this... "I listen to music so obscure even i haven't heard of it"... too damn true.
