Here are the rules plain and simple for the mini game called "Jaws". Since LM doesn't have any "fun water maps" u can really only play it in ns_hydrosity in the water hive (forgot the name), anyhow heres hows the games played:

Marines & aliens do NOT attack eachother at ALL <--VITAL rule, those giant circular platforms with different heights are the audience chairs (or use spectator), there is a maximum of 1 onos in  the water and a maximum of 3-4 marines in the water, the onos may ONLY use devour. (There is no main obj really besides a deathmatch but more rules will be figured out eventually later in time.)

RULES:

1. Max 1 onos Max 3-4 Rines in water at 1 time

2. Any marines on the platforms may randomly fire thier lmg into the water like madmen

3. NO ATTACKING THE OTHER TEAM UNLESS UR THE ONOS /MARINES UNDERWATER

4. Onos must have 3 Movm chambers and 3 Dcs and 1 sensory and must have regen OR carapace (NO REDEMPT) (for Movm chambers the onos may get any 3 choices)

5. With the 1 sensory chamber the onos must ONLY CHOOSE: Pheromones,Cloaking. u will only have 1 sensory (which is all the way in another hive for cloak by sens reasons)

6. Read number 3 again


7. u may come up for air anytime

8. the onos AND the marines must NOT leave the water until the round is over


9. More rules to come!, play around figure new ideas and rules but stick to the 3 dc,3mc and 1 sensory (the reason for the sensory chamber is the water in the hive is a bit foggy thus a cloaked onos in a corner hiding would add in paranoia to the atmosphere

Yes i know, the game is mainly pointing to the Onos but then again u have the 3 maries on the pilars firing w/e ammo they have from thier lmgs into the water so yea...

sounds like fun to screw around in, even if people don't comply, which is bound to happen >.>

which did happen lol, it was ok but unorganized, but next time were going to do it invite only on a locked server, so its chaotic but organized at least ;)

If we had ns_ninja_fall on the server, it might work. The only problem being that the water in that map is sparse, and very dark, and WAY up above a giant drop. Of course, that might add an interesting edge to it as well... swim too low and SPLAT.

Jaws was okay tonight. Of course people had trouble with the rules and such. And it ended like all fun games do, with the server crashing under the strain of buildings. Too many aliens builing too many BoDs and WoLs, not to mention that the marines decided to build an electrified turret factory farm. Sadly the server crashed before we could get an onos to jump on top of it. Too bad, I'd like to see how long a regen onos survives standing on 20 electrified TFs....

Still, it was fun. Good game, guys.

What about rules regarding the chambers above the water?  I noticed there was a couple spots in the water in which the onos could get healed by the Defense Chambers above <_<

Yeah I think the d chambers shouldn't be near. And with how fast an onos regens I don't think he should be able to pick it. Marines can only use knives afterall <_<

Yea, even with four knifing Marines, Onos regen plus healing from devouring one Marine should keep the Onos relatively safe. Also, I think Pheremones should be the only Sensory upgrade, to force the Onos to 'sniff out' the Marines like a real shark.

jaws is really fun with a SoF noclip onos on any map with big rooms

The onos can only have noclip if the marines get JPs. This sounds like too much goofy fun to be legal.

If it's an onos with no clip it isn't Jaws now is it. It's boogey man or something like that.

We tried to play it yesterday night, but there were to many people and to many non-regs on.  First time we tried someone build about 20 sens chambers in the water, FF was turned on so we could kill that ourselves but still.  Next try, marine spawn gets killed by some skulk who doesn't know what we are playing, I think that happend next try to.  Then we just switched the map(and got in a good game of hera)
