Title: NASA World Wind program
Post by: Goldy on May 23, 2005, 09:50:13 AM
I've been playing with this and it's very cool. It's a program which allows you to zoom in anywhere on the earth using satellite images. How far you can zoom in (or how good the quality is) varies, and you have to fiddle with it to get the best images. It's a big download, but a lot of fun.

maps.google.com has something similier to this. If you type in someone street address and zip code you can get satelite images of your own house.

You should visit the forums for World Wind. They have a collection of interesting places to visit, such as military bases and such. You can see a couple of plane shadows all over North America in the detailed maps :)
