I have 2 suggestions to make, or rather one wrapped up into 2 parts.

The first is the CPU. As you've just found out from Zero7 and me in IRC, first-gen Prescott CPUs- that is, the ones still labeled with their speed rather than the new intel model number- suck. They overheat and are inferior in many ways to their older and newer counterparts.

Therefore, you should switch out the CPU. I'd recommend the Pentium 4 630 (here (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-116-198&depa=0)) for $245 or if that's too much then the 530J (here (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-116-200&depa=0)) for a more reasonable $184.

Since that's a different pin package, you'd need to switch motherboards. This one (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-157-039&depa=0) is functionally equal to the one you currently have selected.

That's all. Everything else is ok.

Thanks to Drubo, its changed a bit, and now its 64 bit also.  I'm happy.  Added a KVM, because my parents use the current comp, and I dont want to buy a new monitor.  This one should last me a long time

AMDs are hot.

Your computer sounds good despite the fact that I like AMD better. You should really check other stores besides Newegg. They are hardly ever the cheapest place.

I'm getting the amd soon, but I want to finish this term first. Before I go all out game bash.
