I'm kinda feeling like that right now. Previously, I complained that they were blocking port 80: No webpages. Now it seems as though they're blocking everything BUT port 80: No IRC, no gaming. And where's the contact person for situations like this? There isn't one. Just great.

um, your school should have an IT representive... he may not know why the ports are blocked, but he may be able of find out for you, if not get into the issue a little at very least.

Chances are he doesn't work on weekends though. ;)
Actually, the network representative (or "supporter") would be... me. I volunteered for the position when one was needed, and everything indicates that I've been accepted. Only problem: Nobody has filled me in. At all. So I can just twiddle my thumbs and wait for someone in charge to pop by. Yay.

Good news though: Apparently, port 27015 is still open (HL happy admins?). So while I can't launch Steam normally, I can launch it in offline mode, then play on LM.
