...

I question if you actually read the article, then I question if you understood it

my take was the little kid is scared ess less since his grandfather died, so his mom is actioning the ghost [and the metal walking cane] and saying pay for it and write a letter to her son telling him the ghost and the buyer are getting along.

plus she is taking the money from the auction and is going to buy the little tyke a present.

Either you didn't read the article or you have a very warped sense of reality

[edit]
The mother is going about handling her sons irrational fear of his grandfathers ghost by auctioning it off, and I for one saw that to be a very clever move on her part. Someone is seemingly more than willing to pay 75 bucks for a walking cane and a "ghost" and when her son gets the letter stating that the ghost and they buyer are gettng along just peachy it should help settle him a bit.
Granted, when I first clicked this thread thoughts were racing thru my head about how it was going to be just another stupid ebay auction that is going to get pulled from the site but mirrored and kept alive, but upon reading it I found the story rather touching. Intensity found this story to be decent as well. It just seemed to me that your grasp of the story seemed lacking by quickly labeling it as people being dumb however that is your personall choice and all I can do to influence it is state my view.
[edit2]
HOLY ^^ SOMEONE BOUGHT THE CANE FOR $65,000
last time I checked the highest bid was 75 effing bucks!
and the article has changed alot since I last looked at it, so I can somewhat understand esuna's view better. The newer article puts more emphasis on the online casion that bought the cane, and less on the actual tale of how it came to be an auction. I do agree it is rather stupid for this online casino to have a collection of etheraly imbued items like the grilled cheese with the virgin mary on it.
