What does it take to transend to the "Reserved Slot" group? A certain number of posts? A pledge of loyalty? A certain amount of time playing on LM?
Just curious (you know i envy you :D )

You have to ask Lb , at least i think so and i also want a reserve slot :(

Really it's a combination of all those things. Also two more things help, one is not talking about getting a reserverd slot. Also having a good reason for the slot also helps. When I got mine it was because I got booted twice in one day for when I was comm.

just play nice on the server and don't make anyone mad. that's how you make LB like you. then, when you think your'e on the good side of things.

don't be annoying
i think being on the IRC chan helps too

ive always wondered why i havent got a reserved slot yet, but ive been playing on LM since 1.04 (except a month in Spetember cause LM didnt go Steam), ive asked lb a few times, all the times got no responses back, i guess LB doesnt lub meh :(

the strange thing is i didnt really do anything to get a reserved slot, in fact i was just joking about it with lolfighter, then LB pm'ed me and set me up o_O
i think it's half be nice and half (either) good reason/coincidence

Being nice and a plastic pal who's fun to be with™ definitely helps. Recognizing that quote may help too. :p
As for Niteowl's list: While nothing will guarantee you a reserved slot, the items on that list may very well help. And while I don't know if asking for a slot is harmful for getting one, I know that it doesn't help.

about 'asking for a slot = not working or maybe even harmful' i dunno.. since what i did was to ask about it, but in a joking and not at all expecting it to happen way o_O.....but it did :D

Sorry if I sound like a n00b here, but very curious, what's a reserved slot? ^^;; Is it like a step up from the member group or something? Thanks in advance. :)

Hey Merc ;) Reserved Slot is a title designating your ranking on the Natural-Selection server (And others that LB runs for us). I'm an admin, I have admin access and reserved slot. Reserved Slots are able to get into the game regardless if the server is full or not.

I was just talking to LB one day and we was all "Oh, and ANeM, I'll give you a slot on LM when it goes steam" but he LIED :o
I got my res slot BEFORE the server went steam :o

It seems that only reserved slot people can start a vote to. No thanks server, I don't like spoiled sunny D.

yeah it stinks clicking refresh constantly waiting around for a slot to open and get in before someone takes #16 on the serv... and not being able to use the auto join dealy because itll just say NO PUBLIC SLOTS BRAAWWW!!!

Well, I know on CoFR, you didn't ask, you waited to be asked. I lucked up on their server and got one in two weeks of playing. However, it's always empty when I'm online, so I play LM alot. And I actually see more and more CoFR regs on Lunixmonster. So I will say, the regs here are definitely good team players, and I enjoy this server. In fact, I posted in NS.org forums about your level of gameplay in relation to the 3.x servers, of which I enjoy the company here more. A lot of people like to bash it calling it a collection of nubs, but IMO they're just pissed they don't have a reserved slot.

Haha! That is probably why. I haven't heard anyone say anything bad about, but I suppose people do.
And Legionnaired, I saw that. Very good work, and it's good that people are still trying to keep rr.org running.

I think the key to getting one is being a good Ns player, not most kills, but well behaved, and not whiny...
I belive i told them i wanted one ONCE in the very beginning, never said another word, and just bit as many rines as i could...ehhehe...
but seriously, if your on and you have to ask why you dont have a reserved slot, thats prolly why, I know I wouldnt like beign nagged at to give someone a gift...
but now that i have one... *strokes reserved spot* my precioussssssssssssss
