Well you know what this means right? If you do get your red underwear, walking sticks and highly radioactive cheese out.

this is awesome. I played around in morrowind with the bloodmoon expansion and always thought it would be really cool to actually see a red moon in the sky. now's my chance! huzzah!
-
Except shoving flaming pinecones up my ass is more fun then Morrowind. Key difference there.
-
you'd be surpised how much fun pinecones are. I liked morrowind alot, and i still play it. however, this isnt about morrowind good sir. YAY FOR BLOOD MOON!
I hope it will go blood red tonight, and not just orange or white like it says it might be. I'm just surprised i didnt know of this before. How often do blood moons come?
-
Depends. The light from the atmosphere colors the moon. Remember when Pinatubo erupted? Sunsets were red for days and days. The recent semi-eruption of St. Helens won't be enough to make it dark enough though, so it'll probably be orange, mainly.
-
Blarg, it's too cloudy here for be to see it. :(
-
i heard if you say "bloodlord" 13 times when its full, your eyes start bleeding ogm!!
-
Mt. St. Helens was a semi-eruption? A quarter of the mountain EXPLODED! I don't want to know what a full eruption would look like.
-
well mt. st helens already did have a full eruption earlier on in its life and left the majority of what was there when the second eruption occurred
-
i think it's quite odd that, the day the Red Sox finally win the World Series, there is a lunar eclipse.
-
There's black magic afoot!
Anyway, although I missed last night's eclipse due to the rain and clouds obscuring the sky, I did see one a few years ago. It's always cool to look up at the moon anyway, but to see it glowing red is amazing.
-
obscure
kekeke
-
Pwned by cloud cover.
-
ouch, I actually got to see a decent amount of the eclipse, and recently before the rain started we had a bunch of fires and so the sun was just this orange circle in the sky that you could see thru the smoke
-
Meh, twas nothing special from where I saw it (north-central US). Clear sky but all it became was a mottled brownish color.
-
Damn, it was cloudy around my house. Couldn't see anything.
-
i was at school at the time in the downtown area so our building was surrounded by other sky scrapers, so i had to get out and walk a fair distance out of the city to see it, but by that time it was coming out of the eclipse, but what i saw was still pretty cool; 1/3 was red, 1/3 orange and 1/3 grayish.
-
Yep, cloud cover pwns me too :(
-
There are some pretty nice shots of lunar eclipses around the net, I think I might turn one into a wallpaper or something for the hell of it because it looks pretty cool.

*gets rocking chair out*
when mt. st. helen's erupted the BIG one, i was nary a knee high to a grasshopper i was. i lived in Oregon, a goodly distance from said eruption. yet i awoke to see my entire neighbourhood BLANKETED with about an inch or so of ash. 'twas a sight, it was.
and re: the moon. we were planning on seeing it, but were negotiating on buying our first 'home', as it were, in this case, a 600 sq ft apt. hot dang, that makes me feel old.
