Title: Fighting The Man
Post by: That Annoying Kid on July 14, 2004, 12:48:52 PM
well I've gone from fighting bess at school, to fighting the governments censcorship machine.

WOOHOO I'm I get to fight the real man now!

anyone know how to bring ePolicy orchestrator to it's knees? I'm current using a proxy, but it's slow and I want to browse forums quickly  >:D

when I try to got to LM.org or NS.org or lj.com [sites I've frequented at work] I get a 404

but I know they are not down, and when I try to ping LM.org in console I find that it's pinging 127.0.0.1   last time I checked I wasn't TLM

on a random note, I did a gainer yesterday at the pool!
[A gainer is where you jump off the diving board forward, but flip backwards, it's sketch as a muh but obscenely cool   ]

That is all

you can use google as a proxy by attemting to translate these forum from ... say chineese

oh, they probably used HOSTS to disable them, stand by for ips:
lunix: 69.93.5.186 (http://69.93.5.186/forums)
ns: 66.98.148.49 (http://66.98.148.49/forums)

edit2: use google as a proxy for lunix forums *click* (http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lunixmonster.org%2Fforums&langpair=pt%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools)

use google as a proxy for lunix forums and connect by ip *click* (http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2F69.93.5.186%2Fforums&langpair=pt%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools)

another nice proxy, better ui than google and pretty fast: *click* (http://www.megaproxy.com/)

NO's proxy-related stuff (things that come in handy) *click* (http://neworder.box.sk/codebox.links.php?key=prxtls)

a neat little tool that scans for ip restrictions *click* (http://www.oxid.it/irs.html)

i'm pretty sure linking to "heavy" stuff will get me bant, but there is some decent stuff if you snoop around those sites

Or, look around the forums until you find the hosts-file-rewriter as some vbs program.. run it from a windows machine, and it clears the hosts file and writes what you want onto it :)

Yes! Fight the power! Be unique, be a rebel! Just like everybody else!

 :p

Because some people cannot handle or understand my poking fun at a general aspect of live and/or sarcasm, I must include that graphic smile icon and this explanation to help them understand that I am merely poking fun at the ironic fact that everyone wants to be 'unique' and 'fight the system' (socially, like the punk genre), yet they end up conforming into their own style.

BM, they did that to me, I couldn't edit the file w/notepad.. however by leaving WSH (Windows scripting host) running the VBS program could edit it.. it was really, really weird

Lol TAK, whered they get the lm.org host from :p

i wonder if any of the holes i told the admins about have been fixed

- no BIOS admin pass
- BIOS "skip user pass" jumper still in place
- boot device selectable
- diskette and cd drives bootable
- NTLM hashing >.< used
- password caching enabled
- superuser access not limited to superuser nodes
- BM alllowed on network

i wonder how i'll tell them about the holes this year without loosing my pretty, white hat

Lets see here..
-Bootable CD's
-Creating temporary admin accounts, and writing the password on chalk boards (duh...)
-Dell utility partition still on the new computers
-Windows update is still accessable (from there I can see which exploits the machine is vulnerable to)
-Dos access is still enabled
-Administrator account still enabled (its passworded, but the smart thing to do would be make it have no privliges)
-C drive is still mounted under explorer..
-IE file download is blocked but "Open from current location" isnt
-XP's built in zip handling still active (this + above = download anything)
-Half the computers have intels driver, allowing resolution changes

I could go on and on with their stupid restrictions (No right click context menu.. yea thats intelligent)
Then the fact that they shouldnt use windows in general (I have a VB file somewhere that will allow me to run any control panel)

I've been tempted to send these to them, but uh, maybe I'll distribute files that remove all restrictions

*takes off white hat, puts on black hat*
They have a cat5 jack in the lobby.. it might be time to wire up an etherkiller  >:D

actually I had to log in as the admin and give my account read / write access to the file because access was blocked.

[edit]
because, not becuase
