Instructions:

1) get yourself a SSH utility. If you have one, skip to step 3.

2) if you don't, I recommend PuTTY (http://www.putty.nl/latest/putty.exe).

3) Connect to 208.35.225.137 (port 22)

4) User name is "wumpus" and password is "wumpus"

5) Play and enjoy!

diablus: the ip goes in host name, and user/pass comes up after you click "open".

You need to select the "ssh" radio button under "protocol" too.

some old school game type where all it is is words, like go into tunnel 5? (Y/N)

If you have trouble with it, remember all commands are in uppercase. It was maddening to be asked whether I wanted to move or shoot, enter 's' for shoot, then just be asked the same question again. Over and over and over again.
