I didn't know where to look for a tech help forum thingy in teh innarweb, so i figured you sexeh mahnpais should solve my problem.
TEH MONITAAR! = NEC Multisync FE750
It seems that the more bright colors being displayed on screen, thats when everything looks normal. However, the more dark pixels on screen, the darker everything becomes. If I were to say, open up paint and fill the entire space with black, the entire screen gets darker overall. It's not so much a problem around the web, but when I'm playing City of Heroes there are some areas that are practically pitch-black. I can only imagine what NS would look like.
This problem started yesterday, and before that day it was working fine. The only thing I had done the day before besides playing CoH was updating Zonealarm. The only way I know of to correct the problem is to surn my monitor off, then on again. This corrects the unusual darkness but only for a minute or so. I know it's not something life-threatening, but still it's pretty irritating.
Much caek and pai for whoever helps! <3

im prettry sure the answer is not: "remove your pai from the monitor"
i have no clue ... :/

moniter could be going bad, try using the check thingy on the moniter, or whatever it is

DEGAUSS! DEGAUSS FIXES EVERYTHING!!!!!
Or it's possible your tube is about to burn out. Best run screaming, when it goes it's likely to explode and send splintering glass shrapnel into your EYES.
Or, you know, just start looking for another monitor.
But if it starts making buzzing noises, get under your desk as quickly as possible. I'm just saying.

hmph... only problem ive ever had with monitors is a random line running across the screen :/ .. but colors messing ? weird...
and bobs post if funneh.. my old monitor once started smoking for no reason.. i was scared it was gonna 'splode.. so i got a new one ^_^

great advice. you know, I think i'll just play games from under my desk and have a series of mirrors set up underneath so I can see the monitor without risking glass shrapnel in my eyes.
oh yeah, degauss works... but only for a while. but hey, ti's more effective than turning my monitor off and on again.

It's broken. Get a new one (My solution to everything. I deal with far too many mental midgets to explain why it's broken, and why I can't fix it by typing on the keyboard)

Hmm, one of my monitors has been buzzing for quite some time....

Decimator, may I suggest:

my friend had exact same problem, whites were insanly bright, and then like when he played Unreal tournament, a dark game, HE COULDNT SEE ANYTHING except bright lights. Either get a new monitor, or send this one to get fixed, he got his fixed for like.... 50 bucks i think, and its nice and spiffy now.
-
Pfft, $50 to fix an old monitor = ripoff, you can get a shiny new spiffy one for like $60-$100 anyways... Yeah. Unless you go LCD, but LCD + NS = Death.
-
this happened to me also. It is (apparently) a video card issue, and not your monitor, because swapping monitors doesn't fix it.
