That one really made me laugh.  Another one is when you're assaulting a hive with a heavy train and suddenly you see the upgrade icons on the right disappear.  You look on your minimap and there's 4 red blips in MS, and you say "uhhh comm, is base alright?", and he's like "Oh shi-, get back to base!", and then you say "the phase is down, beacon!", and he's like "NO OBS!", and you're like "BUILD ONE!", and he's like "NO RELOC!", and then he tries to build CC/IPs/armory/arms lab with 50 res, and fails to build the proto before the adv armory is destroyed, and on top of that, the whole heavy train dies while building the IPs.  YES, it has happened MORE THAN ONCE :D  :D  :D

A bit off-topic, but I was wondering how leap was "exploited" back in 1.04, which forced flayra to reduce leap damage.  Anyone know?  I miss the old leap  :(

Ah, a place to put my annoyances:

INPROPER COVERING

Ya know, when you are building an RT and your teammate says he'll cover you, then goes off to a corner.

To properly cover someone, you need to be RIGHT next to him, so that the skulk is running at both of you and you can hit him, rather than just at your partner, and sort of at you at an angle which is very hard to hit.  In this case, usually the marine, on purpose or unintentionally, uses you as bait while you build.

What really comes to mind is south loop on ns_eclipse, where no skulk should EVER make it to the RT when you have someone covering you, because there is a good 50 FEET HALLWAY THE SKULK MUST PASS THROUGH.  Nonetheless, my teammates always "cover me" on the far wall away from the RT and let the skulks run up and chew me down EVERY SINGLE TIME!

COVERING INSTEAD OF BUILDING/KNIFING A NODE

If you have 3 or 4 marines at a node.  There is NEVER a good reason to cover, because if all 3/4 marines build at once, the RT will be done before a skulk has a chance to get halfway to your squad anyway.  Seriously.  And it doesn't take that long to stop building/knifing and pull your gun out anyway.  In fact, the only time when I can see it proper to cover is when you are setting siege up outside of a hive.

OMG EXPLOITS! :D

Yeah, I think I used it as a weapon one time way back when 2.0 first came out.  There was an onos coming up the elevator (furnace side), and we had a phase gate up and were building siege.  Being the little prick I am, I jumped right on top of the sucker and insta killed him! MUWAHAHAH!!

I also had one time I was going up the elevator as an onos and a gorge jumped on top of me :(  TK GG.

Pshh, you were mentioned plenty of times in the first couple of pages.  I think its  an accepted fact more then anything now that you can comm ANY marines out of ANY situation.  I especially liked your "ignore-messhall then siege the hell out of it later" strat the other day that totally kicked ass in ns_nancy.  Every time I see something totally brilliant like that, I get inspired to carbon copy it and exploit it 19810958 times, expect to see a repeat!

Anyway, you hardly comm anymore.  You need to commwhore to get on the lists!

Also, how the hell do you get defend target to work?!?!  I know if you click on it for several hours you will eventually get lucky, but you seem to get it on your first try!  You must have aimbot. :o

sort of on-topic:  I just had a thought today, what about getting ->A1->A2 immediately before anything else?  Seems like a pretty good way to stomp skulks early, increasing the bites to 3 and then 4 within the first few minutes.  Why is it that people insist on A1->W1->W2->W3?

Well after seeing the marines take down an onos and fade today when you tried lvl 0 weapons, I totally understand what you're getting at.  But what about that second fade that was alive for the whole entire game?  I totally agree that weapon upgrades are a waste of time and res, but when you're going up against some really good fades, that extra 10/20% boost may be just enough to kill them.  Or alternatively, the hive may be taken down 10/20% faster by an lmg rush, which is really risky to begin with.

Really, what it comes down to, is how much its really worth to a comm, because the more upgrades one gets, the less cost effective it gets.  Personally, I think an extra 10% for 20 res, or even 30 res is worth it, considering the number of times you see a fade or onos in the red.

Though, I do believe that a point needs to be made to all the people that say "OLO lvl 0 weapons gg nub comm"  Weapon upgrades don't really make that big of a difference.

TBH, I don't think this mod took much work at all.  Sure, I don't know how hard it is to re-do the collision engine or whatever they had to do, but if you look at the TDK, which was released 1 1/2 years ago, it really hasn't changed that much :\  From the looks of it, this is a 1 year mod that took 5 years to make.  Still a great idea and they did it rather well, but I'd hate to wait another 5 years just for a patch  <_<

I like it, though the lack of good maps might make it die really fast.

Its hard for beginners, but some get used to it faster than others.

Lots of poor design decisions/bugs annoy me like hell.  Especially when the camera randomly switches at the beginning of the next race.

Really not much to elaborate on right now, but in general I like it.
