I never actually thought about it, but now that I do, I don't expect many NS communities to be around at all. Especially if NS is not going to advance to use the Halflife 2 engine.

In 4 to 8 years? According the Mayans, in 7 years the world will end... so I guess that's when Duke Nukem Forever is coming out. Yeesh they were smart cookies.


Anyway, I don't really expect LM to live past another year and a half. With Half-Life 2 I think it'll be a major earthquake among the communities, and if NS doesn't move over, I for one probably won't play it as much as I do now (well not now.... i've been working on my map, and work itself :p)

Hmm, predictions eh? Let me whip out my magic crystal ball and see what we see:

-Flayra, in a fit of madness, will accidentally balance NS perfectly while trying to code a nerf for gorge spit in NS 4.0. The community as one leaves the game because there's nothing left to bitch about.

-One day on LM, Sonic says in a thick new york accent 'Hey, guys, I've been screwing with you this whole time. I'm actually a roofer from the bronx.'

-Niteowl breaks down and admits that he actually IS a hyperintelligent breed of owl bred to play FPS games. He's never heard from again, although they say that if you wander the corridors of ns_lost by yourself late at night, you can hear the echoes of distant hooting (and a voice in your head saying GET TO TEMP CONTROL NOW, LET'S MOVE).

-Geminosity gets a sex change operation, still refuses to tell anybody which sex.

-lolfighter, after gathering his forces for five years, swoops down in a desperate coup attempt to wrestle power from the clutches of LB. The fighting is fierce and many allegiances are made and broken with heavy losses on both sides. In the end, the two bloody generals meet amidst a smoke shrouded, blood spattered battlefield and decide to go out for a beer instead of tearing one another limb from limb. In a bizzare twist of events, Lito is left in control of the LM conglomerate (now a worldwide corporation traded on the NYSE and nasdaq with its tendrils in everything from banana imports in guatemala to gun running in the middle east).

-Civilian gets sick of playing fade, decides gorge is the real battle class. Gets laughed off the server, trains in secret in a tibetan monestary, comes back and goes 134-1 on co_faceoff as a gorge with no upgrades.

-Keyser aims at a target and misses. (a little shaky on this prediction)

i hope we all somewhat stay in touch, but who knows? i can't even expect to stay in touch with all of my highschool friends after i graduate. but the internet is a powerful tool, so there's still a chance of knowing all of ya then...

well, in 4 - 8 years, i predict no lunixmonster community, and if there is, it would be a very small and completely different one.

Maybe LB will still be around, but its hard to admin a server with arthritis crippling his fingers to the point where "!ban Cheez" is nearly impossible to type without feeling immense pain.

Niteowl will sex0rz up his woman and accidentally get more kids than he can handle, and is forced to give up gaming.

Bob's woman will kick and scream about Bob playing too much NS, even after several requests, in an intimate voice, mind you, to 'Come to Bed'

lolfighter will DIE....of bordem and go to some other mod; perhaps Ass Rainbow Crowbar Halflife

Isamil is young, so he'll probably still be here, gaming away.  He'll actually start commanding, because everyone that did is gone.

Grimm will take a little trip up north to Saskatchewan trying to "find himself".  He'll stop by a small farm town and fall in love with some hillbilly farm girl that would change him forever.  In what way, is something uncertain.

Sonic will be murdered because of that ONE time he didn't turn around when someone yelled "FFS! SONIC! BEHIND YOU!"

Jhunz will get a job, and will be able to hire whores every other night, thus eliminating the need for games.
