The Phrase "bs"

Is there any chance that you can customise whatever swear filter you're using to filter the term "BS" so that if anyone uses it it displays a message (Like the "Swearing is not permitted...." one) saying something like "Shut up! It's not his fault you suck" or something?

I'm getting sick of killing people and all you get is "BS" because they're getting pissy because they suck.

Yeah, and while we're at it, let's add 'ownt' and 'pwnt' and 'owned' to the filter and make it display back to them "No one cares how good you think you are, STFU."

Really, people bragging about their l33t skillz after they kill someone only leads to aggravation and less of a fun time for everyone.

I must sadly admit I've gotten a little lax about idiocy like this, simply because there's SO MUCH of it. Blatant personal attacks (omg u sux) will always get the 'admin_say respect your fellow players' response. But a lot of general lol's and ownt's will get passed by, because it's such a regular occurence. I guess I could ban the whole server, but then there's no one to play with. What to do?

Just be careful with how it filters 'BS', I've been on servers that did that and whenever you tried to say 'obs' or 'observatory', it would filter it out.

yes sear filters seem to get in the way of quick game names in which i say because they take a second and not like 5 to type, by then im usually dead once i get 1/2 way through the word

edited for Grimm: swear filters. do sometimes get in the way when u are using small abreviated words. such as obs, tf ,etc. using shortened words /reduce the time of typing. but then again, mics work bettah

Let's just throw in swear filters that hit random words. Like 'pistachio' or 'kumquat'. Words that no one would ever say. But then I could type "You stupid Lieberman!" and then the filter would filter out 'lieberman' and everyone would wonder what the hell I just said. And I'd laugh at them. The stupid *********s.

i think you should make it kick people for saying
 " Pre-antidisestablishmentarianistic" or make it bleep it, that would be hilarious, they would be like " dude... he is the siege cannon of cursewords"


on that note, I think you should code in a trigger to ban the marine team any time they have 100+ res, Ha/hmg and phase tech, and they build sieges... or make them pop... that would be good

So as a general heads-up to the regulars reading this, don't scream BS after you get killed. It's annoying for the person who just killed you and it doesn't do anything to improve the mood of the server. This basically falls under both the 'respect' rule and the 'don't be a llama' rule.

General commentary is OK, as long as it's not constant or insulting. I'd be quite happy to see someone say 'nice shot' after they're killed. That's quite sportsmanlike. And, yes, I know I'm guilty of the occasional scream of OMG WTF H4X LOL after I'm killed. But if you don't know that I'm joking, I'd be worried about you. And if you just went fade after saving forever, blinked around a corner and into an HA train to be mowed down, I can understand if you want to bemoan your death. Just don't take it out on the player that attacked you. They're the enemy. That's what they do!
