No but seriously.

The country is still on yellow alert (The Department of Homeland Security: 'the mass transit portion of the transportation sector which includes only regional and inter-city passenger rail, subways and metropolitan bus systems' are on SUPER HIGH ORANGE ALERT).

If you find yourself riding a bus or train you'd better watch your steppin', ese.  Things could get real ugly.

I've literally never cried at a movie, while reading a book, etc. etc :(

Maybe I just internalize.

*edit* Or maybe I'm just a stone-cold bastard!

Okay so I downloaded it (AGAIN - the first time I got pissed off and deleted it) today, applied the special "screw you, shaders!" patch, and played for a bit.

My verdict?  Not that good.

Why not!  I'm reading Opening Mexico: The Making of a Democracy.  A little slow, but I've been enjoying it like crazy.

Quote
Two reporters lately posted in Mexico by the New York Times review the county's recent political history in this hefty narrative. The authors structure their story line around the relinquishment of presidential power, which was held without interruption for the preceding 70 years by the Institutional Revolutionary Party (known as the PRI), in the 2000 election. They develop the PRI's increasingly blatant rigging of elections over the course of the 1980s and 1990s and the types of opposition the chicanery provoked. They describe the protests and appraise the motivations of election monitors, intellectuals, candidates, Mexican journalists, and leaders of a rebellion in Chiapas. As for the PRI's response to discontent with its rule, the authors recount the ascent of figures such as Carlos Salinas and Ernesto Zedillo and their differences in handling the severe crises (assassinations, the collapse of the currency, the wave of hypercriminality) that wracked Mexico during their terms. With a concluding and diffident portrayal of current president Vicente Fox, Preston and Dillon have compiled a crowded, comprehensive survey for watchers of contemporary Mexican politics.

Pretty awesome, huh?   :p

I daresay that it was super-good.

The fights were good - cool and brawly rather than all kung fu, as Batman's ninja training would suggest it should be but I digress - there wasn't much buildup to the ending (I found myself, watching the final fight, a little surprised when I all of a sudden discovered that I was actually watching the final fight.)

Batman's voice is pretty lamesauce and a little overdone, and he has no cool catchphrases.  And in a realistic setting his mask just looks silly (the rest of the costume was preeeetttty awesome)

Last, I would have preferred to see an R-rated movie, if for nothing else, for the sake of seeing Katie Holmes naked and maybe a bit more violence.

Overall, it's worth it.  Go see it.  If you won't do it for me, at least do it for Katie Holmes.
