A very sad, sad thread (http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=64584)
-
Not proper.
-
Yeah, yeah, Agent Blue to the rescue.
-
Damn that's really bad, glad he's recovering or it could have been worse.
-
ay he died ! thats gota suck ... very sad...
-
That does have to be really sad, losing a friend just because someone forget to take their medication or whatever.
-
the mental illness was undiagnosed... there was no medication to take.
It happened because the Dean of the education facility made the woefully wrong choice of sending what he then knew to be a person of unsound mind with a tendancy for sudden acts of violence to a public place without any supervision. It's a sad tale and I hope Soapy is ok but it could've been avoided if not for one person's ill judgement -.-
-
So is the dean/school going to be sued into oblivion, or is this not a school in America?
-
Maybe neither?
The dean isn't that much at fault, there's a long way from hitting people in the face to stabbing them in the chest. The stereotypical schoolyard bullies that beat you up when you're younger because they are stronger and bigger than you don't all go on to become murderers. Sadly, wanton acts of violence among children and teens have ALWAYS been a part of life - you can't keep half the nation's youth in the stockade. It's sad that it came to this, but nobody could have foreseen it.
-
sorry to hear that
excused from any clan-like things indefinitely
-
Come on guys, not the place for jokes. I'm disappointed.
In other news, not sure if Soap comes here but very sorry to hear about that.
-
well fighter, I'm basing my judgement off this line...
"Schube spent the evening with Joel Wysong (The Dean of Men), where it became clear that Schube had serious undiagnosed psychological issues. Wysong then let him go to eat at Ana Purna."
maybe I'm reading too much into it? =/
-
LF, that's sort of why I was wondering if this was America. If it is, someone being sued is almost a given. In other countries it's not nearly as likely.
-
I doubt anyone is going to be sued. The dean isn't a psychologist and so can't be expected to make those kind of decisions. Or perhaps I missed something.
-

Missed that line. Still not sure I'm placing the responsibility with the dean. Don't know the exact case still. And it's not within my authority.
-
it also turns out he didn't punch the guy in class, he attempted to stab him with a pen o.O

California, I believe. Chances are I misread, though :-p
My condolences go out to the friends and family of Levi Butler. o_O
-
Not California, IIRC, but somewhere near Pennsylvnia. (or however it's spelled)
-
After visiting the website, I have discerned that MUM is indeed in Iowa, rather than California. or Pennsylvania, for that matter.
