Mapping / Need Help

Just a guess, I haven't done any mapping..
Don't you need a func_teaminfo or something like that.. I'm fairly certain you have to tell the game which team is team1 and which is team2...
Try making sure the spwan points are for the correct team

Gah, you don't need to know that... throw up a DHCP server, configure all the computers to get a dynamic IP address, and prevent the (l)users from downloading anything.

Networking 98SE is a PITA!.. You have to reboot if you change the IP address...
Its not fun networking XP to 98.. but I have :p

I'd much rather do security, rather then network stuff I figure out all the ways around stuff... made my own site restrictions at school, distributed it as a vbscript file on a floppy disk, popped it in the machine, ran it, and it configured the hosts file the way I wanted
Yea, it must be a pain trying to restrict my access.. Of course, if my school ran linux or freebsd, they wouldnt have these problems.. not many people would know how to do anything

Google for "Starcraft X-Tra Editor", "ISOM Editor", "GUEdit".. I don't think you need much more then that..
Make sure to protect any public maps.. because someone will modify it, and make a lame version if you dont..

If anything, I think the gravity should be lowered by like 50.. so its like 750..

Well, keeping with my flat refusal to download 3.0 until the bloody thing's final, I'm gonna have to vote to keep 2.01 for now.

However, There are a few problems with the current situation:

a: No admins hang around LM anymore to begin with, leaving me (whenever I'm on) as a sort of taskmaster player to the jolly nublins who are new to NS but too stupid to figure out out to get 3.0 :-p  We need either more admins (and ones that are actually willing to make the sacrifice and admin the lunixmonster for once :-p) or just move to 3.0 altogether.

b:  If it's going to be a problem for LB, of course it must be changed.  Any way you slice it, we wub LB and therefore he vast mejority of us will support him in any decision he makes with his own property (read: the server).


No matter how it turns out, i'm, sticking with 2.1 until we get a finished 3.0.  If we switch to 3.0, I'll just have to take a bit of an unfortunate break in playing (only adding to my spotty attendance as of late anyhow - *shakes fist at life.*) 

Otherwise, it's all gravy to me

a) I play there whenever theres people there, I prefer 2.0, rather then 3.0
 Dont be complaining, unless you play at really weird times :p

I'm really torn on this..
But heres my solution..
Run 2 3.0 servers.
Make one all combat and the other all NS..
I dont have any problems with 3.0, other then I dislike combat.. thats the only reason I still play on 2.0..
It also seems that by running the last 2.0 server, we end up with all the people who cause trouble
It also seems that less and less people are playing 2.0

Can we get ns_hydrosity onto FSD? I really miss playing that map

The advatage of staying with 2.0 is that when 3.0f comes out, it would just be us on the server.. well thats the disadvantage too

Then you get people voice-spamming who go "lol" after you mute them as if it was some funny joke..
Yea, the people there are close to being killed for being idiots

S&D Doesnt - It doesnt even attempt to contact the internet unless you tell it to update.

You can screw up your comp with it though..

Which reminds me, I gotta get the hosts file ad blocker, ad-aware, s&d, and avast on a cd to un-bork all the comps at my school.. everyone there is like "Woo! Free game in some advertisement that popped up".. Yea, those arent fun comps

Use proxify, posted above.. it works fine (My school may not be using that software, I get this annoying page, but not the one I saw above)

Now my school blocked webmail, because of some virus (which I have yet to get).. so I'm going to bring putty in, and check my email the hard way

Anyone know how to enable file and print sharing on a Win2k Comp, when I don't have access to the network control panel
I have a program that used to be able to launch control panels, but it doesn't work at my school now
