I might play more again now that exams are over... but personally, I find a bit less life here than before. Less teamwork, less voicecomm, less dedicated players (leaving mid-game, etc [I'm sorry]), less epic games. I can't explain it though; not very well anyway.

If things aren't in an upward trend, then they are in a downward spiral. This seems to be the way things go with ns communities in general.

I actually like the changes. Ammo thing will be really nice for marines that like to rush out of base at the start of a game.

mines< a good marine with a shotgun.

Maybe i'm missing the argument, but a lot of the reasons marines lose is because of the strats they use to try and win.

I mean i play marines a lot, and i rarely see anything other than the basic pub strat except from a few decent comms on this server. Wasting 50 res on locking down 1 hive, or not presuring alien res, or trying to siege every hive they come to, and the usual 2 or 3 people that don't know what's going on usually lead to alien victories. That and good  fades having 10:1 k:d every game.

The game feels a little more balenced to me when you get an organized marine team toghether, and also a few maps just feel a little unbalenced in the newer versions.

maps.google.com has something similier to this. If you type in someone street address and zip code you can get satelite images of your own house.

well if the alien team was smart they would keep you out of their hive so that you wouldn't be able to spawn camp. Really the question that should be asked is who allows the marines to spawn camp? I don't hear marines cry about skulks camping the ip, it's just a way of finishing the game. I mean how do you win this game, oh yeah you stop the other team from spawning.

I started playing a little over a year ago when a couple of my friends nagged me for about a month to start playing. At the time i didn't even have half life so i picked it up and the first thing i loved was actually complexity in a fps. I also just liked the pace and basic concept of the game, and the only reason i'm still playing it now is that i haven't been able to find anything better or even like ns.

General / Tip for shooting for marines?

I find it a little helpful  (mostly against real b-hoppers and not glide jumpers) to aim at the front of the skulk. Not only do you have a better idea of which way the skulk is  going, but it will help you adjust to the speed of the skulk.

you have to tell the marines how bad of a job they are doing, and make sure to point out all their errors. Those are my favorite comms.
