don't touch the midori no hibi anime, it sucks compared to the manga :/
I haven't read the manga yet, but the anime is great. One of my favourites already. :D

My all-time favourite anime is Chobits, it's hilarious and cute through most of the series. After that, it's cute and romantic. <3 <3 <3 <3 * 100000

After that comes Midori no Hibi and Love Hina. I should probably try to fit Popotan on my list somewhere, but it was really average.

Hmm, Excel Saga and FLCL are definitely up there with the funniest anime, but Puni Puni Poemi is up there too, but that's a bit of a cheat since it's entirely linked to Excel Saga. You must watch it if you're a fan of Excel Saga.

DiGi Charat is also really funny, as is Great Teacher Onizuka. :)

Wait... Slayers? Not comedy? Are we talking about the same "Slayers"? The one with the crazy sorceress (Lina) and the braindead swordsman (Gourry)? The one with the fanatical righteousness-and-justice devotee (Amelia) and the violent pacifist prince (Philionel)? Not comedy? Not... comedy? You must be kidding. Just because it's not comedy ALL of the time doesn't mean that it isn't comedy. It's definitely comedy most of the time. Comedy. Get it? Comedy. Comedy.

I demand an explanation.

Slayers is funny but it's not written with the express reason of being funny... the funny stuff is just a side-part to the story which is faaar from comedy.  Ok so the anime isn't quite as deep and intricate as the novels but still... :p

The OAVs on the other hand (lina and naga; based before she met gourry) are definitely comedy =D

Well, yeah... The story is not comedy. But still, I'd say that it's still 2/3 comedy or something like that. When Lina, Gourry and Amelia have to sail across the ocean to some-place-I-forgot-the-name-of and have to dress up in order to conceal their identities? And they dress up Gourry like a woman (how can he complain? His fault for having hair like that...)? There's not a single part of that episode that is not comedy. And that's just the first one that came to mind.

So Slayers is not written with the intent of being funny? And it's still hilarious? Sounds like a good kind of funny to me. Wonder what'd happen if they'd really try to be funny.
