General / Let's Give Two New Maps A Go...

We are going to try two new maps in the mapcycle on LM!

ns_mystic and ns_nirvana! Both are made by blueman (I used to test his maps back on Nano-Gridlock  <3 ), and both are supposed to be sexy!  ^^

Both maps are available in a package here! Or download off the server.

I'm sure he would love feedback, so post it here!

First it was ns_nancy, then ns_fenris, then ns_bast, and now co_daimos that have fallen to the dreaded hard drive failure that wipes the source out.  :help:

I don't know about you, but if I ever made a map, or anything that took a bunch of time, you betcha I'd burn it to a CD, place a copy offsite, etc.

Speaking of which, I'm going to burn a copy of all the servers and the site to a CD, right now!  :blink:

The current incarnation of NS:Combat is not very enjoyable I have found, and I am considering not running it.

However, I'd like Lunixmonster to be fun for all, so we are going to try this vote.

Please vote, and explain why you voted.

Note there is not a I don't Care option, if you don't care don't bother to post! You have been warned!

Of course, my view on this is subject to get more positive (or negative) as we move towards release, so stay tuned! ^^

Only Anime I've seen before this is the random stuff on the Action, Encore, Love, etc channels that I used to get with dish network. I think I can remember Bio Hunter and Armitage Dual Matrix.

Have Windows XP/2000 and IE 6 and our FTP links won't work: Open internet Explorer. In the Tools Menu --> Internet Options --> Advanced --> Browsing, Check the box marked "USE PASSIVE FTP" ...Doing so should fix your problems.

Off Topic / House Of Sven Shut Down

For those of you that used to play on it, the House of Sven is shut down for good at the moment.

I have enough to worry about without having to deal with the exploitable WON system on multiple servers.  Not to meantion the connection isn't the best. :wacko:

Never fear though, Free Meeces is still kicking, and is my only WON server left.

I managed to stem the usefullness of the current exploits out, so play in peace! ^^

General / Custom Maps Ahoy!

With steam, we now have a more advanced content delivery system, which means downloading custom maps is much quicker, steam compresses the map and sends it to you at a much higher speed then the old WON system did.

For this reason, we will be able to have custom maps, right in the mapcycle!

I'm already thinking of ns_hydrosity, can I get some more ideas, with a reason why you like the map, and a link to the map? Maps need to be 2.0 compatible!

I'll eventually combine them all into a mappack available here, of course.

This will apply to any servers we might host, any mod!

Post links to the map, or I will not consider them. No fun maps please.

Announcements / Lunixmonster Ns Moving To A New Host!

This week, the Lunixmonster NS server will be moving to it's own box located in Texas. The current host will be taken down sometime next week.

This is due to the fact that the Steam HLDS doesn't like Linux. At all.

Never to fear, the name will not be changing!

This new box will allow more control over the server, and allow us to host our Sven Server, and a dedicated NS:C server if we decide on that.

Stay tuned for IP's and further info as we get the box up and running!  ^^

As per this thread, CWAG has suggested a 14 player server for 7v7 fun instead of the 16 player server we have now.

I personally think 8v8 is perfect balance wise, so my vote is to leave it. But please, let's discuss!
