Title: Navy Field

www.navyfield.com

its a naval mmo. it has 2d graphics, reminds me of commandos. So far its really fun, as your crew levels up you get access to more stuff, like different class ships, and different weapons. when you hit level 12 you can pick a nation, (it takes place during WW2) and get access to some of history's greatest ships (even the yamato :o) so far ii'm level 10 and have a pretty nice destroyer. Here are some screenshots below that are from the website.

I play under Leaderz0rz commanding the Harlequin. I'm still fighting in the beginner area, and apprently you have to train a crew member to be a radio operator to get access to private messaging and buddy list. if you ever want to play just highlight me on irc, if i don't answer i'm not there =p

Holy crap, this is alot harder than I thought it would be! It's fun, but it's been awhile since I've been the one floundering about while everyone else is kicking ass. :p

I'm Mr.XSZ in my little frigate, GulfStream.

So I keep trying again over and over....

Then I get pissed and Create a new ID and STILL get the same message...  im at version 1.07something... is that the newest version? or is it that 1.06blahblahblah one?

it takes awhile to get the bigger ships, I just now got the first British ship. H.M.S.Harlequin Orion Class Destroyer but i didn't have enough money for the good guns so i'm using crappy ones lol. I would suggest waiting till you have atleast 30k in the bank before selling your ship and getting your first nation one (this is at level 12 btw) and also read the forums they have alot of good info.

I just bought my first destroyer, should I recruit a new sailor and stick him in a crappy turret in the middle slot in order to train him? Or should I leave it blank?

Yea, I have the same problem. Guess he's along for the ride until he can man a torp launcher. By the way, have you tried a large battle yet? How does it work?

it has a learning curve..but once you figure it out its pretty fun. you could be the best ever but you can't win against 4 people shooting you at the same time =p so plan your attacks carefuly and don't let damaged ships lore you into groups of other ships.

This seems kinda interesting, but I have the same question as TAK before I decide: Can you get the Bismarck/Tirpitz?

Nevermind, did some digging myself. And the answer is: Ja Herr Admiral! You can get the Scharnhorst as well.

Don't let yourself get caught by a "Bismarck" if you're sailing around in a "Hood," though. In the battle between those two giants, Hood was sunk by a single grenade that smashed through the deck and blew up inside an ammo magazine, creating a 200 meter high fountain of fire, breaking the ship in half and sinking it almost instantly. Out of the 1418 crew members, three survived. :o

Wasn't the first time the brits paid with the loss of one of their ships for not armouring their decks well enough, either.

And finally, to compare how long the Bismarck lasted, a quote: (http://www.kbismarck.com/operheini.html)
Quote
Almost two hours had elapsed since the battle had begun, and the Bismarck had shown a formidable capacity of resistance. The British first struck Bismarck at 0902, and ceased fire around 1016. For 74 minutes, the Bismarck received a continuous hammering that no other warship could have taken. We need not forget that the Hood sank six minutes after the first German shells were fired only three days earlier. Moreover, neither the main belt nor the armour deck were seen to be penetrated during the combat, and in the end it was her own crew who scuttled the ship. During this last engagement 2,876 shells were fired at the Bismarck. They are itemised as follows:

380 of 40.6 cm from Rodney
339 of 35.6 cm from King George V
527 of 20.3 cm from Norfolk
254 of 20.3 cm from Dorsetshire
716 of 15.2 cm from Rodney
660 of 13.3 cm from King George V
And this was against two battleships and two cruisers.

wow...mad addictive. played it for an hour and got up to level 6 on most of my guys, bought me a destroyer. i can pretty much take out 3 comp ships in under 2 mins with no assist using only the fwd guns. its all about running up quick and throttling back at the right time to nail the other ship with a broadside barrage. cant wait until i get a battleship and i can really start pounding people.
