Can't disagree there.

Heh. I once got carded for a game that was 16+. I was 19 or 20 at the time (and I was wearing a beanie - or whatever you crazy english speakers call it - because it was cold outside, and I had it pulled down pretty far). I didn't really think about it, just got my passport out and showed it to her. My friend afterwards pointed out that the game was only 16+ and that the cashier went beet-red when she saw how old I was. I got a little flustered, but after thinking it through for a while, I decided I'd rather have her card me ten times over than not card a 12-year old who looks old for his age. And getting bitchy about a shop upholding the age restrictions on games, that's unacceptable.

I donated.

Precisely. You donated. You didn't buy anything. Of course, you get more donations if you make a great game, and less if the game is poor. Therefore, NS falls under the same rule as commercial games: The better the game, the more money you make. But you can't buy NS. You get NS for free. And if you want to give some money as thanks, you're welcome. But if the developers were to say "hey, quit the whining. It's like we owe you anything," they would be completely right (and get hugely unpopular).

I'm not belittling your donation, I'm just calling a fish a fish. You didn't buy anything, you donated. If anything, you bought an ingame icon, a forum access and the privilege to beta test. But you didn't buy the game.

You're thinking of the Animatrix, the reason why Matrix Reloaded was such an immense disappointment: It got our hopes up.

It was two months the last time, not three or four. After the forums had been down for three weeks this time, people were complaining how they had been gone for months. I wish people wouldn't exaggerate so much.
Either way, it's not like they owe us anything. We haven't actually paid them anything for NS.

But hey, the game is still pretty popular, so I guess it's just us there's something wrong with.

Well, comfort yourself with the thought that there is nothing morally wrong with nocd cracking software that you have legally bought.

I have no idea whatsoever what this is. I have never heard of that movie. I just hear a lot of people talking about it all of a sudden. It's based on a television series or something?

I guess this is why I got tired of DoD back in the day. I haven't tried DoD:S, and I don't intend to either, since I pretty much assumed it'd just be the same game with updated graphics and ragdolls. So yeah, it's too deathmatchy for my taste.

I had to google steamfitter to make any sense of that.

I know where you're coming from, so good luck with it all. You have a good time now, you hear?

And if anybody is still pissed that we do not love the revolutionary revolutionarity of the Revolution controllermote, they can direct their hate at Scott of VGCats. He's probably used to it by now.

Nice try there. For a moment, I almost bought it.

And if you're really not kidding, try googling it. Can't miss.

This is "talk like a pirate day," not "try to sound like a cheap imitation of Maddox day," so why don't we all cool down a little and try something other than mudslinging for a change?

Coffee is made with boiling water. That's 100 degrees Celsius or 212 degrees Fahrenheit. When ordering coffee (or tea for that matter), it should be assumed that the liquid can be anywhere up to that temperature, and it should be permissible to assume that everybody assumes this. The law exists to protect us from OTHERS, not ourselves. When the law punishes OTHERS for OUR mistakes, it doesn't work. The law exists to place blame and punishment WHERE IT BELONGS.

But on the other hand, if an establishment is selling boiling liquid in a container that cannot withstand 100 degrees Celsius, they do deserve the blame.

Had you actually taken the time to read our replies, bacon, instead of flinging your sarcasm around like so much poo at the ape grotto, you'd have noticed that we were being slightly more sophisticated about our commentary than you seem to believe.
