Simple question: Will Lunixmonster get a dedicated Combat server?
-
If there is demand for it, then maybe.
I'm not too impressed with combat mode myself. So LM won't be running it.

How about a poll asking if co_ maps should be included in the mapcycle, every other map? Like:
ns_nothing
co_core
ns_origin
co_angst
etc..it'd relieve some stress of commanders and such. ;)

That sounds like it could work out :)
All I know is that I wanna be able to try Combat at least ONCE

Same here. It looks like it could be fun for awhile, but nothing long-term.

combat is very fun in my opinion but shouldnt get a dedicated server for it, i think wither's idea would go good

Either LM is getting a separate NS:C server, or we'll not be running it at all.

Hmm, I dunno. We all know that a 2v2 or 3v3 game of classic NS isn't exactly loads of fun, since the winners are usually predetermined from the very start. The only thing that keeps me playing on Lunix when playercounts are that low is the hope that more people will join. As far as I know, 2.1 will have an option for servers to switch back and forth between classic and Combat based on the playercount. Even though Combat isn't "too impressive", I'll bet most people will find it to be more fun than a 3v3 game. So setting LM to play combat with <7 players and play classic with more would be a good idea.

Personally I find combat as a 3v3 or lower to be even more frustrating then a similiar game on Classic. (Read: Hardcore Spawncamping)

LB is right. While combat can work with smaller groups than classic, it currently doesn't work with all that much smaller groups. insted of 6vs6 being the minimum for a pretty good game like classic, its 5vs5 or when you are lucky 4vs4.
-
We'll see. There is actually a VERY nifty system in place for switching between the two.
-
And that is?

I have yet to play NS:Combat, but I definitely need a change of pace in NS. I've been rather bored of it recently, and a new game mode should freshen up the experience as well as provide for some quick action-gaming fixes.

I'm guessing he was talking about what Xeero said, there is a way to switch between combat and classic based on player count or some other random vairable... but thats just my guess
