I've found one I sort of like, but its quiet at the moment. Balance is right, you have to create a char from scratch and the avg level is intended to be around 15. Was wondering if anyone still played and wanted to join up.

TBH I've moved on from playing modules, its basically now replaced the bulletin board style of online RPG I used to participate in.

I recall a few people saying they played NWN, does anyone still do so? I've started getting into PWs and I'm wondering if I should be looking for familiar faces!!

Again, much like the realworld legal profession, people always look for loopholes in rules, and a mines are ok in a building hive soon becomes "if you think a hive is about to drop, spam mines like mad, that way you're not breaking the rule for mines in active hive".

Its the difference between people who follow the spirit of the rules, and the letter of the rules. The spirit of the rules is NO SPAWNCAMPING.

My younger brother was looking for a game with no monthly fee, perhaps I'll reccomend Guild Wars to him.

Do you have some bizarre and irrational fear of slugs that causes you to torment them so?

I've pretty good self control, I'm expecting a wage hike in the next month or so, it'll more than cover SWG *and* WOW, mwaha.

Might even get Matrix Online as well. No such thing as mmorpg half measures in my book.

I got hooked on NWN PWs.

Mostly cos its free.

But its that damned free hit thats the problem. Now I want a bigger PW, with more stuff implemented, and that means WoW or SWG.

The sad thing is that I have finally decided to bite the bullet and get a credit card, the last person in my family to do so despite being the oldest sibling.

We're doomed.

Also guys you need to play the Jaguar version of AvP, they took that whole idea from Alien and turned it into a method for the Alien player to reproduce himself in order to finish the game.

Also known as "the scene that was cut from Alien but put back into the Director's Cut".

Anchorpoint essays are really old (but updated), I'm shocked you "diehards" haven't found them before??

Deathmatch is dull.

It might be a new thing for some gamers, but for people who've been around a while, you quickly realise that DMs are only marginally different from playing against the PC, thus the REAL fun is to be had in cooperative play.

That, I believe, is why MMORPGs are HUGELY popular. Cooperative objective based play is more rewarding and varied than deathmatching. Honestly. I fail to see why people think DM modes are the pinnacle of gaming. I mean seriously, I would worry about anyone who has been gaming for a decent length of time but still believes DM to be better play than teamplay.

Its cooperative play where each side has a vastly different play style.

Its why I got hooked on XWing Vs TIE and AvP as well, funnily enough.

General / What would you want to see in Source version?
« on: May 06, 2005, 07:53:49 AM »
A flat port....... I dunno, I mean I dont have HL2, I've no real incentive to buy HL2, and a flat port isnt going to make me want to suddenly buy said game.

THAT SAID... I'm sure a flat port would be good for people who play HL2 mods more than HL1, and would also snare a few new guys.

As for the source optimised super duper NS... they'd be better off starting again and calling it NS2. Dont get me wrong, NS could use working hitboxes and Onos that can charge people into the air like dolls, but at the same time there's a lot of other stuff that could be added into NS, and rather than "bolting on" these improvements I think they really warrant their own game.

And there's probably not many people looking like Harry Potter in Jutland.

So find one, kill him, bake and eat the body as a meaty aebleskiver, then assume his place as adminator.
