Title: World Wind
Post by: Nooblet on March 17, 2005, 12:40:02 PM: World Wind is a 3D map of the Earth. Using Landsat and Shuttle Radar you are able to zoom in and look at any place on the planet. Also anywhere in the US you can zoom in so far that you can find your house, granted that some of the data is old and outdated. Google Funds it, has some nice features ie..restaurants nearby, most roads, clubs, partys houses, crack houses :blink: , stores, distance finder...
Full version isnt free, and theres a 30day demo of the download version.

How big is your car? This thing only zooms to a resolution of 15m to a pixle...

Post by: 2_of_8 on March 19, 2005, 09:07:58 AM: The resolution is absolutely horrible for non-USGS urban area ortho-enabled cities. However, in the cities that DO have this special set of photographs, the resolution is incredible - you can, on some occasions, see where people are. :o

You have enabled detailed usgs ortho map, and it's not available for your area.

Only a few of the larger US cities :(

And even then, only parts of the MAJOR cities they acctually have in color (the black and white ortho is a little more expansive)

I want to zoom in and hunt ants in my grass :(
