Dark and Kenny also have unfathomable pings as you might have noticed, especially late at night.


Sadly, finals are next week so I won't be on as much as I like.  Then I'm going to go home again to my awesome cable intrarnetxors i wish i had... dialup... :(

And nuketheplace, you really shouldn't choose a school based on their connection :)  Oh and most sites cap their downloads real low anyway.  I only saw it go this high because microsoft doesn't cap their downloads :D

i've been avoiding this thread simply because i know the first 2 posters in it personally; however, the network admins here feel it is necessary to close off p2p ports and generally cap the bandwidth alot ment to everyone to around 1.08 MB d/ls.  I once asked one of the admins what the d/l speed would be w/o the cap but he didn't know since the cap was put on before he started working for them <_<

Olo, last time I ran one of those tests it was like 2.5mb/s I think.... cant remember it was quite some time ago... <3 my cable :D

Hrmm, cant seem to connect to any of those bandwith testing websites @_@.

*edit* olo got it, looks like my results were
Communications 2.5 megabits per second
Storage 303.6 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 3.4 seconds

Wow... I remembered exact...

Also note that the storage speed, not the communications speed, is the one I posted :) megabits/sec != megabytes/sec

my homies girlfriend who is getting 2 majors and a minor in 4 years [!] is on the oc-48 line in socal...


you pretty much don't get faster than that unless your doing lots of offical work, or on interweb II

well just for a godd time i decided to test my 256x256 dsl that i share with two roomates who were home at the time.

im not unhappy with my results
