How to start this off,

I figured out a way to get Marines vs Marines to work on NS, and no it dosn't restart on game start it actually works.

the map itself, is poorlly detailed, but the reason it was made was to show that MVM works, the only problem are the follow:

Team 2's CC, can be hurt by team 2 and 1, meaning you try to weld it, you actually hurt it.

it's a fault in the way I had to do this, It could be, fixed but it would be hard.

again, poorly done.

So, Enjoy this Map, and hopefully there will be more of the kind I am working on teh aliens vs aliens and will soon enough (when I get the time) post on how this is done properly, so anyone wanting to try this, dont worry the information will be out soon.

I personally am in full support of this project, and plan to rally LM regs periodically to help beta test this feature. Come on folks, make Ness happy.

Edit: Just had a few 3 vs 3 matches. Oh my god. Such a fun map. We spent half the map jumping around in the crazy room, too. Holy devil owned everyone, and it was confirmed that the shotgun is overpowered.

Alien vs. Alien must be done, NOW! I'm shivering in my booties for it!!!

Use the same map and swap out the appropriate entities for the teams. Then wave whatever magic wand you used to get MvM to work, and let's GO. I can't wait to have midair lerk dogfights and some good rounds of fade jousting! KEKEKEKEKE!

Ah, most impressive! I can hardly wait!

That seems like prime opportunities to practice Fading! Although I have to wonder how the alien classes are going to work out against each other... I have always wanted to see an Onos devour another Onos though.

As a matter of fact, that sounds great! Throw that map up here before our antcipation kills us!  :p

Thats nice work Cas,  guess I might as well explain how to get the hives done (or general idea)

the way you do MVM is that when your choosing the team for the team 2's cc, you set it to team 3, as the game sees the 2nd marine team as team 3, hence comm chair  = team 3, but the armory can be put to team 2 it dosn't matter.
I have a theory though on how to fix the comm chair, so that team "3" dosn't have to worry about welding it to death by accident.


As for aliens, if you've figured it out ofr not, im still havnt tested it, I would think it's the same concept, the hive goes to tem 3 everything should work the only thing is Im not to sure if team 1 ould chang eot team 3 or 4, I think 3 so the best guess would be that way. The way to find out if it's right is that the map wont restart at game start.

As for my theory on how to fix it, I'll try t have that done and tested by today it shouldn't take long at all, just have to get out of this damn school and ill be working away on it.

Are you having to put a generic hive in for MvM and then triggering its death whenver the second CC is killed? That seems to be the current theory on the way you're managing two CCs at once.

And if you had two hives, wouldn't one of them not be able to heal the team? Or would both of them heal both teams?

My MVM has no hive at all, im goiung to go over to the Ns forums and clear that up.

As for the twwo hives, one would help the team but one of teh others wouldn't this could be fixed by hidding some defence chambers, as their prebuilt I wouldn't think theyd upgrade

BUT I have a theory that if proven right will solve all of this and save everyone from a lot of trouble.

How do you see what team the marines are in? OR do you just guess?  :blink:
Otherwise it sounds really intresteing, and it would eb awesome if you found out a way to get Kharaa vs Kharaa.

I don't know if it's possible to make DCs heal at the exact same rate as a hive though. Hives are... what, 13 health + 10% or something odd like that? Otherwise it would work fine, just build a tiny room below the hive and spawn several DCs there, they do work when mapper placed, unlike most other team_ entities.

And as far as telling which team is which... someone is working on a perma-glow plugin for the teams I think. Currently unless everyone wants to agree to glow one color for each team, it's pretty much down to shoot everyone you see and if they bleed, keep shooting.

tho still workign on Ava soem tiems i change almost nothings and 1 or 2 sides can upgrade =\ tho i think i fixed that problem =) also i tride to add a team 3 but cant join it when i walk threw the team 3 team triger  :( it be cool if u coud figher how to mvmvava =p also funny if a ono eats a ono it takes a hell of a long time to eat him lol and u end up dieing and letign the outher 1 out after so long lol my friedn was eaten by   map and went let me out a sec later i pooped him out and died lol

how would a sensory alien team be uncloaked by the other team?

an onos devouring a gorge? (ok that one sounds cool)

Say it with me: "Proof of concept."

Obviously it's not going to be properly balanced since there simply aren't built in counters for a team to counter itself. In MvM this isn't too bad, but I can see how something like a silenced cloaked skulk could really tear it up in AvA. I still don't care, though. I just want to play it and see what happens.  :D

Actually, it only works in co_ mode at the moment. = (

If OFFICIAL MvM mode is ever made, then hopefully it work work in ns mode also. Wee!

And not only would one focus bite kill a skulk, one regular skulk bite + a parasite would kill a skulk. I foresee much carnage in AvA maps...
