I just finished watching the first season. All I have to say is.. wow. What an awesome concept, a show about people stuck on an island, and packed with weird mysteries that make no sense. It's like the Twilight Zone meets David Lynch. :p It was slow at times, but the final few episodes really made up for that. I found that the last one in particular actually creeped me out.

I'm watching the finale tonight (well episodes 24 and 25) after the first few shows I got really hooked... then it kind of leveled off but was enough to keep me addicted.  I hope the final shows are as good as I want them to be :)

The slowness in the middle was ok for me, since I was downloading them and didn't have to wait too long between eps. I can't imagine how bad it was for people watching it week by week, gah. Well I guess I'll find out in season 2.

BTW, I think they should have just called the show "Hatch"

I'm not sure if the numbers actually mean anything outside of the world of Lost, but they (as a group of numbers, not the individuals) have a pretty large significance.

I'll gladly watch the next season. The last episode really was creepy, though I felt bad for laughing at Arzt's mishap.

As for the weird people on the boat, it's really a curious thing. I think the writers are just using them to throw people off by making it seem as if they come from the outside. I think they come from the island itself.

I saw no throwoff about it.  As soon as Danielle said "they said they were coming for the boy tonight" - you knew it was that kid.  The second a speedboat showed up at the raft you had to know something was fishey - it wouldn't be there for no good reason.  Somehow those 'others' on the island have lots of resources.  That damn Sawyer HAD to turn on the radar. <_<  I also think that had Kate been on the boat (and now Sawyer) - the boy would have been saved (or at least she'd have snuck on with him).

I, for one, was disapointed with the finale... I wanted more resolution.  I suppose they did their job in hooking me into next season - but really the only other series I watch is 24, and at the end of each season there IS a resolution, for some reason I expected the same from lost (I mean look at the similarities, I joke and say I only watch shows that have the lead charector named 'Jack' ;) )

I cried like a baby when vincent tried to swim out to the boat.

I never had any doubt that they came for the Island.  They knew the boy had left the Island and were searching for him.

When Danielle said they were coming for the boy, I thought they were referring to hers or Kate's.

The more stuff that's explained, the less fun the show becomes. I wish they hadn't even shown the others on the boat. I was hoping there would just be the spotlight and then they'd go away, or they would fire on the boat and then go away. The mysteries which make no sense (like the hatch, and locke) are the best part! I don't mind being kept totally in the dark, it's a lot of fun that way.

As for 24... have you noticed every time Jack has been a fugitive, it's awesome? When they thought he was trying to kill Palmer, when he held up that gas station... I've been hoping forever that there would be a whole season of Jack on the run. Now, finally, I think they're actually gonna do it! Can't wait for that.

24 is definitely my favorite show. I loved how Jack got more and more in trouble with the higher-ups in each season. Now he's a little more on his own.

The first season was good, but my favorite, by far, was the second season.

Season 1 of 24 was the best thing to ever be on TV, period!  Season 2 had Kim involved with a murdering husband, a convenience store robbery, an escape from a sheriff's escort, a psycho in a fallout shelter, and a tiger... yes, a tiger. I really hope you're talking about a different show, or you have the seasons mixed up. :p

You're basing your judgement of Season 2 on KIM'S storyline? Come on! The only reason they even bothered with her was to appeal to the young male (or just male) demographic. I never cared about her storyline in any case; she's always just the damsel in distress.

As for Season 2, I liked it more because it had more to do with accomplishing an actual goal. It had more conspiracy, more plot. The mastermind was trying to start a war for personal gain and he had reached into the White House. Season 1? It was all about revenge. That's not to say it wasn't a good season; no, it was great, but it didn't seem... important. It was just a man trying to kill two other people for revenge. No matter how important those people are, it's just revenge.

Anyway, Season 1 was great. It also had one of the coolest action scenes ever with Jack going Rambo. I just think Season 2 was much more intricate. The final action scene was better, too.  :p

I felt Kim's crap really took away from the overall experience. And I'm not sure they added her just to appeal to that audience.. really there was nothing for her to do, yet she was a main character of the show. So they just put her in the same situation as in season one even though it no longer made any sense to do that.

There was very little unnecessary stuff in the first season, while pretty much every other season has some dull/useless characters. Plus, Jack's anger and purpose was extremely personal, on top of the fact that he was protecting the country as he usually does.

Every time Jack goes rambo, it's great. I hope season 5 is going to be nonstop rambo!!

I thought this most recent episode was going to be like a soap opera halfway through.

Also, what's with the weird shifts and breaks in scheduling during the same season? There were two or three new episodes in a row, then a rerun.

I watched the first season of Lost. I started watching the second, but just stopped. Got involved in other stuff, and didn't care so much. I'd still like to see it though.
It's twice as clear as heaven and twice as loud as reason.
