Going on a little "vacation", I'll be back sunday night. I'll hopefully be on the forums, but not irc or the server. I don't want to be sending passwords over an insecure wireless network

Announcements / Lost your reserved slot?

We have just cleaned out the reserved slotter list. Anyone who failed to reply to this thread in the RS forum had their reserved slot removed.
Edit by LB: Ample warning was given in IRC, plus the fact you should be reading the RS forum no matter what...
If you feel that this was an error, and you still want your reserved slot, you have 2 weeks to PM me. If I haven't recieved a PM from you in that time, you will loose your reserved slot, until you have been renominated.

Finally got the hardware working on my new system.
I put in the XP cd, setup looks normal, but freezes, every time on "setup is starting windows", from what google says its something to do with the PCI bus. But nothings plugged into the pci bus.
I'm annoyed. I need help.
The system is going to run memtest overnight, to ensure it isnt memory.

Soo, its my birthday soon, and I'm pretty pissed with my current computer. So, I'm buying a new one.

You know, the movie. That is pissing me off. Asimov had a book, a while ago called I, Robot. It was a collection of some pretty good short stories. None of these stories was even related to the movie. I don't have a :Ding clue where the movie came from, but A) it wasn't one of asimov's books, B) its book is replacing asimov's old books at the bookstore..
It just pisses me off.. first they totally make up the move, then replace a perfectly good book with their crappy movie one. Its not nice, not nice at all

So, who was connected at the time, and what did the plugin start doing?
What I heard on irc is it "reconnected everyone over and over".. that really doesn't seem possible, but I'll go with it for now.
My question to you, is does anyone remeber what was going on at the time? Was this during midgame or after a mapchange? Were there any players doing unususal things on the server? Does anyone happen to have a condump of either the players on at the time, or the events leading up to it? (Server logs from about 5 mins before until it was taken off the server would be helpful, if you have them) Was there any player that was pissed off at an admin, the server, a ban, etc? (They couldn't cause it, but it would be nice to know)

So, any help you give me can help me to fix whatever caused this.. the entire plugin is pretty simple, but I can think of a few ways to prevent this from happening.. such as disabling the plugin after a certain number of executions per minute.

Ok, here's what I would like to try, gathering a selection of GOOD suggestions for NS
I'll then compile this to a few places, and post it to the NS forums as a PDF.
I'm hoping if we get enough of the good ones together, maybe we can get someone to listen to use (Having a nicely formatted list without the nubs spamming it will also help)
When you post, I'd like to see it like this if you suggest something

Team: (Marines/Alien)
Short (1-2 line) Description
Explanation as to why we should have it (Not too long, but long enough)
I'll start:
Aliens
Bring Lerk spikes back
The alien team currently lacks any good long-range weapon. They have spit and acid rocket. Spit is on an alien not designed for fighting, and has a slow RoF/minimal damage. Acid rocket isn't available until the third hive, and it is not very effective. For the fade to use acid rocket, it has no ability to blick away, as all its energy is used for 3 acid rockets.
Marines
Nerf electrifcation damage
Electrifying a res node should not mean that it is unkillable, without a serious investment of time and res. Aliens have no way to kill it, until they get fades. This disrupts the res flow, as aliens need res to take down marine RT's, but they can't get res until they kill marine RT's. Catch-22.
Note: If you aren't suggesting stuff, don't put the team and stuff, so its easy for me to pick the suggestions out

Well, I don't even know if LB will run maps modded by ripent, but I might as well make them because its fun to play with.
Anyway.. could someone make me a lunixmonster image? Here are the requirements:
256x256 or less + dimensions must be divisible by 8
256 colors, with last one being the transparent color
readable from a distance
I'd prefer no background, instead make the background transparent.
Has to have "Lunixmonster.org" somewhere on it.. maybe make the .org a different color?
It's going to be transformed into a SPR file, and *hopefully* put on all the NS maps LM.org runs

Usually he knows what he is doing, he doesn't need every player on the team telling him what to do. Then complaining when they loose becuase of X reason. Then people complain that there is no armory, and that they want GL's..
It gets annoying, and needs to stop.
