Alright, thought I'd make a post here just to give ya'll some heads up. A lot of you might remember how nostalgic I get when I talk about Neocron. Now's your chance to be part of the nostalgia.

A buddy and I are going to give a different cyberpunk mmo a go. Closed beta should be starting soon and open beta should be ready by 2Q 2009 with the game releasing by late 2009. If you're curious, it's called EarthRise.

Sound off if you feel like joining me for it (maybe not for release, but the beta, at the very least). I'll probably start updating bl0g7 once again (if I can remember the password for it.. harhar) with some updates regarding it. We got about 5-8 people together so far from our AoC guild, so rawr. Join up.

Off Topic / Zero7's Adventures! (Asia! Second Edition)
« on: September 05, 2007, 07:59:47 AM »
Well, shit. Looks like that time again. What we hope to be another epic post detailing my travels! Before I start I'm going to state a couple things:

1) Less pics of airline food (Relatively, I think) <-- couldn't be assed to pull out the camera everytime. Truth be told this is just plain my fault. That and I didn't want to overdo the airline food pics.

2) MOAR PICTARS! This time I was travelling with 3 other picture takers. The result should be something close to a total of a couple thousand pictures. Naturally, it'll take me more time to go through them all and come up with a silly picture album. I am doing this alone =<

3) I'll refer to other people in this and one of them has decided to also throw in their comments. I'll sort out the relations now.
K = Male cousin (5 years older than I)
M = Female cousin (1 year younger than I)
A = Male roommate of cousins (they all live together)

4) I plan on re-editing my original AiA post for bl0g7. I'll also take a look at my other not-so-well-done adventure posts and see if they're worth finishing or not.

And here comes the content:

Travel Log

August 18
Learned from previous experience to come WELL in advance. Arrived at check-in 3 1/2 hours early. There was no line-up. 2 of the attendants competed to get my attention and to get me to go them for the process. Pimpin' pretty early. Except they were old (and not so pretty). As expected, I got pulled from the security screening line again. They did "the wand" sweep again. Also did a full-body pat-down. The guy spent a lot of time on my pants/legs. O.O

August 19
Arrived in San Francisco. Found out our flight to Hong Kong got delayed by 16 hours because they were getting nubbed by a typhoon. Other flights to HK, even one leaving at the same time as ours are still fine (and continued as normal). We have 7 bags checked in but only 6 claim tags, oh noes! Also found out that my aunt fainted on the flight to SF. Also found out that a bunch of people decided to lose their lunches all over one of the bathrooms on the flight, so the attendants had to close it.

M - Lawls at my mom fainting and the $120.00 Chinese fast food dinner. Football games go to 12:00AM?

Note: We received 6 food voucher tickets from the airline (Singapore Air) valued at $20 each. We spent it all at one chinese place in the airport. Pic will be shown later of the bill

Aug 20
Aug 20 disappeared. We don't know what happened to it. I suspect it has to do with asian hax and turtles. Turtles wearing mittens.

Note: Actually, I think we took a look around SF until our flight. I remember us getting 6 more food vouchers from Sing. Air, this time valued at $30 each. A, K, M and I took our 4 vouchers and spent $60 on  lunch and $30 on booze. K, M, and I then spent $30 on espresso and biscotti.

I think we arrived in Hong Kong the same day because of time-zone shens. I can't tell anymore.

Aug 21
Went to Victoria Peak. Saw some pretty awesome signs. Clouds blocked the view, but cleared later (wewt!) Also went to the harbour and the supar expensive fashion district. I wish I had more moneyz =< Seafood for dinner (with cousins' cousin's family). The prawn were like 8 inches long :O Really expensive dinner. Went back to the harbour at night for some long exposure shots.

M - What time is it? It's time to party! Baby! Remember when posing for pictures to spread your arms wide and make bird noises.

Note: We saw a watch in the fashion district that actually said: "It's time to party" on it. At Victoria Peak we saw random fobs (well, I guess they're technically not fobs...) there who posed like that. I can understand against a landscape background it's to help you look like you're flying or something... but we saw a kid doing this against a fountain and another infront of a shop. What the shit?

Aug 22
Woke up to rain. Benedryl helped me sleep. We headed off to an island to see the world's largest bronze sitting Buddha. I touched a cloud (pics later). Waited for bus, ferry, octopus train, plane <-- yeah, each one was late/delayed =( Arrived in Singapore later and went to sleep. Oh, we also saw a retarded bus. A kid stared at us the entire time and smiled. I think he likes me. <3

Aug 23
I like to hold my pen. Headed off to Thailand today. Yay! STDs! DO NOT WANT! Went on a river cruise with a karaoke star (Name is Saipan, she was invited to come with us by a friend who joined us in Thailand). K got to sing with her and prove his own supar singer skills (alliteration go!). We also got caught in the rain. Like, tropical monsoon rain. *frown* Also, I'm fairly certain I saw a hooker. \o/

Aug 24
Drove 3 hours north from Bangkok to reach a resort. Boring as hell there. We played 20 questions for the duration of the drive. Best question EVAR: "Does it kill zombies?"

Upon arrival we (A, M and I) decided to go biking as they had a bike trail. In 25 minutes we managed to finish the entire trail. Twice. A and M went over a rickety bridge with really nasty ass water underneath. Maybe swimming would be more entertaining. Ending up spending 3 hours in there. Standing in the pool. The chlorine got rid of the dead skin on my ankles. So smooth. We played some crazy Asian blackjack with our hosts. I ended up winning 400 Baht (1 CAD = 31 Thailand Baht)

M - That bridge was shady it had a "support" beam that didn't reach either side of the stream but fell short. Surprisingly though, it held my weight, although it broke my bike.

Aug 25
Leeches. Leeches EVERYWHERE. We went to a national park, saw a marked trail for a waterfall. WORST IDEA EVER. Shitty trail. Leeches apparently fly, we stayed on the goddamn DRY trail and they still got to us. The waterfall was like 2 feet high. Happiness VERY LOW. Hygiene VERY LOW. I feel very insecure =<

M - Luckily I brushed them off as they were on my legs, thinking they were tiny worms. Highlight: Zairo seeing a fat one, then screaming, then running and kicking his shoes off.

New Information: These leeches don't fly, they live in the grass. Equally "WTF mate" o.O Also, there were no recordings of the above happening (thank GOD). The leech was on my sock. In my shoe. >_<

Note: Other leeches may still fly.

We also went to another waterfall with supar steep stairs. At least there were no leeches. Went to a bar in Korat (unofficial name of the town) for dinner. Saw transvestites and pretty ladies (I think they were ladies). Two of them hit on me (one was a chick, the other a trans). Went to a club afterwards. More pretty ladies. They seem to love live bands here.

M - Apparently Johnny Walker is REALLY popular here. The young'uns all got a little tipsy and danced and attempted to play pool.

Note: The bar had an entire wall of nothing but Johnny Walker on it. K danced with Saipan. M and I played pool and somehow got down to 2 balls each. Her dad took over for her and I think A took over for me. Her dad sunk my ball \o/ Also, creepy old guys gave me a back massage in the bathroom while I was peeing. Good god that was awkward.

Aug 26
No hangover! Dehydrated for the entire day though (sore calves + dizzyness) =< Went to some ancient city in the middle of a modern city. Did other touristy things (i.e. went to see the statue of the Hero of the city and went to the local market). M + A did some drinking, again. No booze for me =< Booze tommorow, maybe, probably =>

M - Yeah, yeah, I'm a lightweight with beer. 2 and I'm tipsy. Playing cards like that was horrible, rap... wrap... pita?

Note: We were playing a card game called "rap"

Aug 27
Back to Bangkok... Bang "cock"... STDs! Yay! (do not want) Did some classic word play (cunning linguist, anyone? ^_^) Went to see a water dam. Of interest was seeing Buddha's handprint and footprint at a temple (all 108 signs are present on the footprint). Pics explaining each later. Also went to a tailor to get measured for a sexy suit. Drank in the apartment.

M - Man it was hot that day. Keekle at everyone taking the golf cart around the corner to the van while we walked (10 metres away). Keekles at A making a fool of himself by attempting to reach through the glass (he wanted to see a watch and didn't realize there was glass in the way). Keekle at my being an odd drunk and randomly saying "There's a hat store around the corner"

Aug 28
Visited various places of interest: Grand Palace, Temple with giant Buddha, Temple of Dawn (contains one of Buddha's relics). A traditional Thai massage followed. That shit hurts. If you're ever going to get one while you're in Thailand here's a tip: "bao-bao" means softer. "Jip" means pain. When in doubt, cry and scream like a little girl. I <3 alcohol (more drinking that night, we found a $3 CAD bottle of vodka early on... an $8 CAD bottle of whiskey... yeah, booze is cheap in Thailand).

Aug 29
Arrived in Singapore. Have a couple hours to kill before we fly off into Malaysia. I <3 Airport shopping.
Arrived in Malaysia. We're staying at the 5 star Concorde hotel. And we're in the Premier suites (awesomity). Went to dinner with great aunt + some extended family. Clubbing afterwards kinda sucked, but there were many pretty girls. Also, lots of hookers, though I suppose the higher-class ones are called escorts.

Aug 30
Shopping day. Shopping is also quite rocking. Dinner with loads of family. Family I didn't even know I had. Lawlz asian familes.
P.S. Booze isn't cheap in Malaysia =(

Aug 31
Arrived in Singapore. Went to the Night Zoo. We also celebrated Malaysia's Golden Jubilee (50 years of independence). I am NOT impressed with the fireworks (none).

Sept 1
Went to Chinatown (in Singapore). Saw a Hindu temple. A, K and I did a taxi-cab race with M and her parents to COMEX (Tech convention in Singapore. There were a few booth babes. Prettyness. We ate dinner at the "No signboard" Seafood restaurant. In Chinese the name actually translates to "Nameless". The reason for this is because when it first opened, it was the only restaurant without a signboard, so when people wanted to go eat there they said: "Meet me at No Signboard restaurant". It's located in the red light district Geylang. I also came up with an idea for an adult marital aid. It's a spring.

M - The night zoo was alright. Lack of black bear on unicycle was a major disappointment. The Hindu temple had really hot floors (you had to go in without shoes) and I didn't buy anything in Chinatown to prevent looking like a flight attendant (I found some outfits that look like what the females wear on Sing Air) I went to see the merlion... and... yeah... that was good, I guess. =/

K - Hi Mom! I was here =)[/b]

Older cousin took me to Wala-Wala (I think that's what it was called, it's a pub) in Holland Village. Cousin then took me to Clarke Quay (location of Ministry of Sound) and we walked to Central Mall (on Magazine Road 6, I think). He brought me to a Thai-themed clube with free admission and pretty girls. Club name = Live Impact. I am a tank compared to him (alcoholic tolerance).

------

I'll type the rest out later.

Off Topic / Warhammer MMO
« on: May 01, 2007, 08:41:31 PM »
Right, well. Some people asked me in IRC about a Warhammer MMO guild. And then they asked why I hadn't made a post (both on bl0g7 and here) about it. I suppose I should make that post now then, which is what this is.

As some of you may know, there's a guild option for the sign up. Since I'm making this post, I suppose this makes me the improptu guild leader who will be signing us up for the beta.

Using this to gauge interest before I actually go through some more in-depth shit.

Ever feel like playing something other than NS, but don't have anyone from the community to play it with? Well, that's where this thread comes in handy. I'll list the most commonly played (multiplayer) games we do besides NS, including a "Flavour of the Month Game", which is basically a game I don't expect to stick around longer than a month. And without further ado...

-------------

Hamachi
Japanese Hax!

A program that lets us connect to each other, network style! It's like being at a LAN, except without physically being there. Yes, this means we can use the "Local Area Network" function in games and still play with each other. We use it.

Please only connect to our hamachi networks if you have the game and plan on playing it via LAN with us. If it is necessary, another network will be created for X game (assuming enough LMers show interest).

Also, please do NOT join more than one network unless you're a designated host (PM me regarding getting yourself added to that list).

Flavour of the Month
It'll never last!.. right?
This month's FOTM is...
SlaveHack

Synopsis
Browser-Based Hacking Sim. Though this hacking sim is as much a sim as Burnout is a racing sim. Seriously. I'll add more later. Just adding this while I wait for some nubs to start the wc3 game.

No Linky :(

Note: All LMers are AUTOMATICALLY added to a FOTM userlist. The only exception is when there's a lot of updating required (due to permadeath, etc.). If you wish to be removed from this list, please tell me.

WarCraft 3 - The Frozen Throne
Synopsis
Does this seem familiar to anyone?
You don't play WC3: TFT for the melee, you play it for the custom. Everyone is getting into WC3, it's just too bad there's a SERIOUS lack of good maps out there. But fear not! Our very own Zero7 (Me) and Holy_Devil (h4x0r) are working on making an LM map. Too bad Zero7 is a lazy ass and can't figure out how outdoor terrain should look like out of a castle. Go bug Zero7/Fewlio/DHP! And give them words of encouragement :) Also, Please note that most of us play on the US EAST server.

Maps
Just to help you sort through the veritable pile of trash out there
TEAM VS TEAM:
Footmen Vs Grunts - Fun map, easy to learn, hard to master. May seem simple at first, but more than meets the eye. There's actually an ASSLOAD of teamwork needed in this. It's fun. Also looks like it'll become a staple for when we feel like competitive play.

Defense of the Ancients - Common map. Everyone who plays WC3 knows what this is. To those who don't, it's based off of Aeon of Strife from StarCraft. To those who STILL don't know. It's basically swarms of lil' dudes and you control a hero. Think.. Dynasty Warriors.

Enfos Team Survival - Staple map to our play. Mobs spawn in 2 places for each team. Goal is to survive longer than the other team. A LOT harder than it sounds. Has more teamwork than one would think, too.

DEFENSE/SURVIVAL/EVERYTHING ELSE
Eve of the Apocalypse : Exodus - One of the greatest defense maps ever made, IMO. The LM WC3 map is based off of this style, so learn it well. Requires excellent team coordination and a computer that can handle 23984720398473098573045345 units doing things at the same time.

(All Those Zombie Maps) - Feel like killing zombies? Good, Zero7 does all the time. Play a zombie map with him! They're hard as hell and require patience, but he just found a new map that's actually FUN. Go him! Note: They're like the "popular" S3 Survival/Infiltration series. Kinda.

World of Warcraft
Synopsis
Yes, it's THAT kind of game...
Warcraft. As an MMO, what could possibly be better? Well... if you MUST ask, then I must answer with the following: Female Night Elves.  <3. Seriously though, this is actually a decent MMO. Blizzard gets it "right" with it's first release. Kudos. Choose between Horde (Orc, Tauren, Undead, Troll) and Alliance (Human, Gnome, Dwarf, Night Elf). Surprising, lots of LMers play this, as well as people from the entire NS community, we're just spread out over 20394820394 servers. =3

Please See This Thread For More Info.

-------------

Note: that all of the above games have a LOT more players than I what I listed. I only list people who give the "ok" as we don't want these poor folks being spammed by random people :) Exceptions to this are for games that aren't out yet.

-------------
Well, I got lazy halfway through this thread, I'll fix it with more games later.

Did I miss a game because I was a nub? Tell me and I'll add it.

There will be some exciting things happening to the LunixMonster community in the near future. To prepare for this, there will be a sorting of RS members into active and inactive categories.

ALL RS holders have been placed into a Legacy members group and have access to the Legacy Center board, please post there to regain previous RS privileges (Note that you must be logged in to see the Legacy Center. Also, you had to have been a RS previously). The Legacy Center will be active indefinitely as is, so returning members will be able to keep their RS if they so desire.

Off Topic / LM Meet (Idea Phase)
« on: March 15, 2005, 12:36:03 PM »
Alright. Just an idea right now, nothing permament. Here's the general rundown.

I've pretty much completely organized a mini LM Meet (Toronto, Ontario: AnimeNorth). This serves as a "test run" for a larger meet.

What I'd like to know, is how many would attend. Some general information.

Since our community is global, it'd be near impossible to include everyone. Since I'm an east-coaster, any real (none of those lil' test events) LM meet I organize will be meant for those on the east coast (though if people from the west coast REALLY feel like coming along, that would be awesome). This brings me to point number one. Location.

Location is not yet completely decided. Generally the place we need would have accomodations nearby/at the place. Room for general events. Crap like that. The current location I'm thinking about is Niagara Falls.

Of course, an LM meet would be dull, and for some people, it'd be a pain if it only lasted a day. So of course, duration of the meet is important. Personally, I'm thinking a weekend will do. As for a specific date, I'm thinking July 1st - July 4th. This way, our American LMers celebrate Independence Day, and the Canucks have their Canada day. Eveybody wins.

The other things we don't have completely covered is:
Events, what are we going to do? (I'm open to suggestions, we could do a LAN, or stuff, whatever)

Food/Accomodations/Prices: Food is easy to cover, someone brings a BBQ and we're set. Accodomodations are easy as well. Book a hotel room, or if we happen to get a big enough warehouse type place, bring a sleeping bag :D. However, the major concern would be prices. Renting a place large enough for LMers would cost a bit of money (assuming such a place can be found), unless someone has some property they'd like to donate for the meet.

So, before I go any further with planning. Here's the first poll.

Off Topic / Zero7's Adventures!
« on: March 06, 2005, 04:39:33 PM »
This MAY be Part 1 of a 2 Part series. Why you ask? Because I return to Quebec in July, possibly.

This thread was created as a result of the excellent feedback from the original. I can only hope this thread performs just as well.

I'd like to take this time to also point out that this adventure was an EXTREMELY short one when compared to my Asian Edition, as it was only 4 days and the majority of those days was spent snowboarding on a mountain that (for the most part) was too cold to take pictures in (because I'd have to take my gloves off)

And without further ado, I present to thee...

Travel Log

March 2
Had to go to school today, went wearing my PJs and some big sweater. It was good fun as I only had to go to 2 classes, Media Arts and Speaking Skills. Media Arts time was spent coming up with characters for my animation project, and the teacher didn't show up for Speaking Skills, so we just ended up going to the cafe for fun. And what fun we had. There was enough innuendo to make anyone blush. Lots of touching too. Skip ahead a few hours and we're on the bus to Tremblant. Unfortunately, it was an 8 hour ride. Fortunately, there's pit stops. Unfortunately, there's only 1 pit stop. Fortunately, I could buy more condoms for fun times (balloon animals). Unfortunately, they costed $4. Yea, we played that game on the way to Quebec. It sucked. >_> Arrived early, hooked up the PS2, played Soul Calibur 2. Oh, and we watched movies too, such as Along Came Polly, and that's about all I can really remember, gg.

March 3
Went snowboarding all day. It was quite fun. We did stupid things, like play ass tag. Didn't go to the terrain park as we were all feeling a little insecure. Went back to the hotel for more Soul Calibur 2 <3, and then had a group dinner at some restaurant called Spag and Co. It wasn't too bad, except we were still hungry. Beavertails were had by all. I feel sorry for the beavers :(

March 4
Went snowboarding again today. All day. Body is so sore, it hurts to move. Stupid snowboarding. Why does it have to be so fun? >_> Anyways, we got back to the hotel. Someone cooked us dinner, it was quite good. And we played more Soul Calibur 2 and had fun messing around in bed and confusing people when they walked in on us. Yea, there's pictures, but they come later =3

March 5
Today is our last day here. Woke up even more sore than the day before. We did basically every "good" run on the mountain, and played lots of ass tag. Funny thing happened too. Around noon, we were playing ass tag on some green circle run (Green Circle = easiest. Basically, the ground is almost completely flat, there's a slight decline). I took a REALLY rough fall. Story went like this: My friend, we'll call him "Friend" and I were playing ass tag. I moved in to tag him, and got him. He tried to move away and went flying into a ditch and came about 2 inches from hitting a tree. He got lucky though, as the ditch is full of soft and fluffy snow. I look back, catch an edge and go flying. Literally. I flip around in mid-air and land on my right hip, go flying into the air again and land on my head, right eye/cheek area first. I have cuts from said fall. And my hip has cuts too, though from what, we're not sure, as they're circular. My hip still hurts. We  have pictures. End story? Green Circle > Me. We left Tremblant later that day and got on the bus. Again, we had more innuendo, and watched 2 more movies, The Ring and Butterfly Effect. Did I have fun? Yes, as there was rampant flirting and fun. I also bought Cosmopolitan and won a muffin at Tim Horton's. I bloody win. Hip still hurts. Got home at around 11:30PM to find out our school was on fire. Fun stuff. My story ends here.

See what I mean by short? I'll elaborate and add more as needed. Pictures come later :)

Off Topic / Oh Noes!
« on: January 02, 2005, 08:01:47 PM »
Arrr! It has seem that I have run into some "technical" problems with my computers. As such I won't be around for a while, probably.

The Problem
*Cue Dramatic Music*

My main computer (the one I use for teh work and teh gaming) ran into some "hardware issues". To put it simply, the processor broke, it "exploded" if you will. I shall not speak more of this matter.

My secondary computer (the one I used to use for teh work and teh gaming but now use for small LANs and as a server more than anything now) just plain broke. T'was working fine a few days ago, but alas, soon after the main computer broke, so did mein secondary. It'll turn on, but nothing happens. Monitor is still dead and such. :(

My tertiary computer (the one I used when StarCraft came out and currently only use as a secondary storage/computer for the parentals) was formatted. Yea. There's 32 gigs of free space <3 happening on this thing. The monitor also sucks (it's dying very slowly, me thinks) as everything is all dark and stuff. I'm also too lazy to change monitors.

The... Goal?
Or Maybe "Solution-In-Progress"

My current main goal is to get the secondary computer up and running, as at least I can have some form of entertainment (mainly NS, WoW, teh music, and IRC). This is the current primary concern

My secondary goal is to replace the CPU for the main computer, but alas, this is not cheap. To get a replacement would cost me about $280-$350 CAD. However, the likelihood of this happening in the near future (couple days) is EXTREMELY unlikely. I do not foresee much opportunity to replace the CPU (P4 3.2C). It has been suggested I just go and get a better one, and I was considering this, but then I'd have to go out and grab a better mobo/ram sticks. But I digress, this is besides the point. Switching CPUs/grabbing a better one is basically out of the question (it would simply cost too much, and I'd have to get all bothered about shopping around and deciding on a new chip, which would probably be an AMD).

The So-Called "Twist"
But Not Really

However, on the flipside. I have been rather neglecting academics lately in pursuit of entertainment, fame, and general asshattery. The lack of a "fully fuctional" computer has given me the opportunity to redeem myself of this. At a pivotal time as well. Exams approach and will occur on the last week of January, IIRC. I might be wrong and they're on the third week. Meh. So I'm left now with the ability to significantly rectify the current academic situation.

The Others
I Like To Call Them "The 5th Wheel"

I happened to acquire a PS2 over the holidays, and have been playing that as well. While I do find it entertaining, it does tend to get VERY boring after a while. However, while it is not boring, it gets extremely "addictive" and burns up all the time I SHOULD be using for schoolwork. And when it gets boring, no longer do I feel that I have the "energy" to do said schoolwork. I also only have 3 games for the PS2 currently. Not that big of a problem, as two are RPGs. One being Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time, which was fun, until I got to the point where it's basically "open" (I can travel "anywhere". Yay?) and everything was kinda easy and didn't give good rewards (that's not to say the bosses weren't easy beforehand  <_<). The other RPG being Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. Rather bland RPG for solo-play. I much prefer using it for when I'm entertaining a solitary guest, but even then, it gets tiring. The final game I have is Soul Calibur 2. Fun game, to me, it's like DoA for the PS2. Simply because you see teh panties. However, this too got old very quickly as the "Weapon Master" aspect of the game is really bloody hard now. I use it when entertaining solitary/multiple guests. Let them beat the game for me. Everybody wins.

Plea For Help
Or A Desperate Cry For Attention. Or Something... Or Maybe Where YOU Come In

I'm rather at a loss for a solution here. I could do one of several things.
1) Get the new CPU going. Lose Lots Of Money.
2) Fix the secondary computer and use it to tide me over until otherwise.
3) Don't do anything and "concentrate" on schoolwork. (Though this is unlikely as I'd probably just end up watching TV all the time. *shrugs*)
4) Other.

Other is if you have an alternative solution. I myself have an alternative solution. Fix the secondary, and do the whole school thing. As I've done before (before WoW and HL2 came out, I had quite the schedule going). Also, if you know of any fixes I could use, please tell me so. My only current possible way of replacing my broken CPU is to wait for some kind of sale or go hunting on RFD for a used one. And the latter doesn't happen very often, if at all.

Cliff Notes
You Lazy Muh...

1) My Primary AND Secondary Computer Are Broken.
Primary Computer: Broken CPU
Secondary Computer: Doesn't Boot. (I turn it on and the monitor is still dead. Yes, everything is hooked up correctly AND yes, I've tested this using another monitor AND another video card and a combination thereof. ¬_¬)

2) My Tertiary Computer Is NOT "Fully-Fuctional" As A Means Of Entertainment.

3) Possibly This Is All A Blessing In Disguise? Exams Approach In Either The Third
Or Final Week of January.

4) Or Not A Blessing. I Have A PS2 With "Addicting" Games That Leave Me Too "Burned Out" For Schoolwork.

5) I Need YOUR Help, Whether This Be
a) Knowing Of Any Ways Of Obtaining A Replacement CPU For "Cheap" (Cheap Meaning Cheaper Than The Price Range I Had of $280-$350 CAD)
Or
b) Knowing Of A Fix For The Secondary Computer.

6) No Profit :(

Off Topic / So What Are You Doing For Halloween?

So what does everyone plan on doing for Halloween?

I'll prolly be going to the Rocky Horror Picture Show with Temjin around then. Give or take a few days, or weeks, or something. There's a really big haunted house thing going on too, where they have like 6 haunted houses for you to go through. Prolly do that. Maybe try and go for a LAN AND a party, and just have everyone bring a bag of candy or something. I'll prolly also be dressing up, because I'm cool like that. No more bloody Takuto costume for me ^_________^ It's black-ops this year!

How about you?

Might as well start typing it all out now. Features my travel log currently. Pictures come later on.

Now let's all sit back with a cup of whatever the hell you like to drink, and read about my (somewhat odd and stupid, IMO) Adventures in Asia

Pre-note: I'd like to make it clear to everyone... that Temjin sucks.

Travel Log

August 14
Got pulled out of the line to board the plane and searched. I had to remove my backpack and wallet and they went through it. Scanned with that niffy metal detector thing too and set it off a LOT of times. I bet I scared quite a few people with how many times I set it off (couldn't go 5 seconds without it going off) Strange thing is, my shoes set it off too. So those were removed and searched. Apparently... my shoes have metal in it. *shrugs*

August 15
Still on the plane... watched movies, played games. Over 24 hours and I still haven't taken a potty break. This _CAN'T_ be good for my bladder. Anywho, I win. Plane I'm on kicks ass, I get my own personal TV and I can watch whatever movie I want (they have about 60 or so to choose from) or, I can play games (POKEMON! KEKEKEKE)

August 16
Arrived in Taipei at 5:30 AM. Got to the hotel. Slept until 7:30 AM and took a city tour. Our guide sucked complete ass.  He decided to flirt with the two Japanese girls who were also taking the tour. *sigh* Kicked out of the tour bus towards the end, they told us to take a taxi home. Yea, it was THAT bad. Meh, no tippage for him, more money for me! Would like to point out at this time, that Temjin sucks. Went to the wrong MRT station to meet him, because he's not very clear about these things. Dinner was horrible too, it looked like actual trash (but you knew it wasn't because they cooked it infront of you)

August 17
Went to Marble Gorge, where entire mountains around the gorge are made up entirely of marble. Anywho... 1900 metres, 60 pictures, 12 bottles of watter, and 2 sore feet later... (Insert pictures here, when I get back in Canada that is) People kept on talking to me in Mandarin. I don't know Mandarin. It made for funny situations. My response to everyone who talked to me and who I couldn't understand: Smile. And nod. Tired as hell after that. The tour lasted 10 hours.

August 18
Had a 4 hour car ride... YAY! Total distance over 4 hours = 280km. Talk about going slow... >_< Arrived at some Sun Moon Lake place and had lunch at some lake-side place. Then we went to a Pagoda on a mountain... hill... thing. 226 steps to the top. A lot of steps. Total distance covered in 226 steps = 570m. Height above sea level at the top of the pagoda = 1000m. The average time it takes someone to travel to the top is 15-20 minutes. I had 10:20 going up. Record is 4 minutes. Little did I know that more stairs lay ahead... (in Cambodia)

Anyways, we visited the aborigines. Mother parental unit bought royal jelly and some... ground up deer fetus (wtf?). They threw in some beauty product for men, because I'm a pretty boy apparently, and need to take good care of myself.. o.O They talked to me a lot in Mandarin, some tried Cantonese (finally! a language I can comprehend). Anyways, there were many a sad face when we left for Puli. Puli is a town located in the centre of Taiwan. It's also known for it's 4 W's. Good weahter, Good Water, Good wine, and Good Women. Wewt. Went to some famous wine factory place. Had rice wine, weak stuff, only 15%. My n33d for b33r continues.
I got some shampoo and soap made from wine. I now smell like a drunkard. A sexy drunkard. Ohhhh yeaaa ;) (Sorry, it's the alcohol talking... I'm absorbing it through my pores, you see.)

August 19
Nothing Much. Met Temjin. He's an ugleh muh (<3) IRL.  Someone gave me a "free" pen. Went to Shilin Night Market. Lots of pretty girls. Temjin wanted to use me to get their phone numbers. AND SO IT WAS DONE. Because, I'm seckseh like that.  Apparently, some older girls thought we were a homosexual couple *frown* and wanted to invite us back to their place (or so Temjin says...) keekles. Was also supposed to buy Tem-nub pr0n. Missed my chance for it at Shilin. Oh well.

Note to self: Return to Asia after HS, with friends <3 (or maybe head to Europe instead)

August 20
Nothing- Took a 4 hour plane ride from Taipei to Singapore. Arrived, ate, slept, read House of the Scorpion. Slept some more. That about sums up my day.

August 21
Woke up to the sound of SCAREH wildlife (like... monkey cries O.O;) Wewt. Went around and visited relatives. Then we went to visit more relatives. Wasted 2-3 hours downtown wandering. It sucked quite badly. Then I visited more relatives. Harharhharharar, someone kill me. Please.

August 22
Woke up at 5:30 AM.  Flew to Cambodia. Our tour guide didn't show up at the airport, so we took teh scareh risk and took a cab to the 4 star hotel. Agent showed up at hotel 1h 40m later.  They made so many mistakes, it's not even funny. Examples:
1) Time (Apparently, they thought we were already picked up, though we weren't)
2) Lunch/Dinner included (Thought it wasn't)
3) Wrong name & Group Number (Apparently, I don't exist, yea)
4) Mixed us up with ANOTHER group

Now, this was during the SLOW season, mind you... I don't wanna even think about them during the busy season :x

August 23
Lots of walking. Feet hurt. Hurt Bad. :( Lots of bloody stairs too. Steep stairs. Also went to Angkor Wat. Lots of Japanese people here o.0.... who also talked to me in Jap. I don't bloody look Japanese, do I? >_<  Apparently 65m high hills count as mountains. Cambodia is really fsking weird. Also got to ride an elephant. Rawr.

August 24
Visited more bloody temples. Went to some weird temple and it started raining. Boring day. Learned the tour guide was an aspiring singer (he won several competitions). Yea, Really nothing happened.

August 25
Learned Taiwan was getting hit by 2 typhoons. Ahahahahaha! Temjin got nubbed! :D
Because I'm rather bored, I found some interesting colour combinations from this store place: Blue/Black. Red/Black. Red/Gold. Gold/Black.
Went on river cruise and saw floating villages. Yea.... Sup turtle?

August 26
Went back to Singapore from Cambodia. Did absolutely nothing. Note: It's really bloody hot. Further Note: I don't think the next few days will be very interesting.

August 27
Nothing. Again. Just wander around some major commercial centre (I bet this place is cooler at night)

August 28
Nothing. Went and visited Haw Par Villa - where you get to learn all about Chinese myth and the 10 different courts of hell and junk. Then I visted more relatives. I need bloody entertainment. Of the funnay variety. >_<

August 29
Went to see AvP. Sucked. Cousin showed me around and brought me to malls. Apparently, that's all there really is to do in Singapore. Shop. Also, they have shops that sell snowboard clothing (Singapore has no mountains... and it's near the equator, so no snow)... Apparently, it's trendy. Fun fact of the day! Popular fashion styles in Singapore are largely Japanese influenced. Personal note: That explains why I see so many short skirts ;)

August 30
Woke up sick. Blah blah blah. Left Singapore for Canada. My flight route is from S'pore to Hong Kong to San Fran To Toronto. Total time spent in air is approx 22h. Total time spent in transit at the airport is 4-5 hours. Wheee bloody whee.

August 31
On the plane \o/ The dude sitting infront of me is really quite rude :(

August 30
OMFG. Time travel hax! Arrived at San Fran. Customs line sucked too. We spent an HOUR in line, and our flight was the only one there. GFG efficiency. Also, some jerk behind us kept on coughing right at us. Didn't even bother to cover his mouth. Uggh, disgusting. He did it repeatedly too *sigh* Oh, and I got searched again. Do I _REALLY_ look that much like a gang member or a terrorist or something? (I heard Triad mentioned by some people in line to go in, and they were looking at me funny)

August 31
Arrived in Canada. My story ends here folks :)

Off Topic / Remember That Time?...
« on: August 01, 2004, 07:28:35 PM »
Just a general banter thread where we remember all of teh funnay that has occured in the LM community :) I'll kick it off with a few of my memories:

That guy who came into #lunixmonster and said "DUDE!" at the beginning of every statement (and how we'd all say "dude!" right after he said anything) -then he got banned or something *shrugs*.

When we played co_ava for the first time.  Tess' responses were "heee-larious"

That was all I could remember right now... What about the rest of you?

Off Topic / Photochop Thread
« on: July 13, 2004, 11:13:20 AM »
Just for kicks and giggles. A photochop thread. It works like this: You give me the go-ahead to chop your photo (posted either here, or in the post your picture thread) and I make it funnay.

Ninja Edit: All pictures will have a pirate theme (for a while anyways.. until we get another theme going)

Kudos to Anarki for being the first to volunteer ^^

Edit: You know I'm gonna want a new title after this.. maybe like.. CHOP GAWD!
