Oh yeah. I just purchased an Alpine CDA-9830 Car Audio Head Unit.



It cost me a pretty penny, but it's an extremely nice unit. Plays MP3s, 50Wx4channel, has high-pass, low-pass and subwoofer crossovers, a multitude of digital equalizing and sound correction, as well as an auxilary input that is adaptable to many forms (which I plan on hooking my 3-year-old iPod into)

Mapping / Help With Worldcraft

For some reason, worldcraft crashes when I tell it to run the functions to compile a map. It doesn't even begin the first fuction before Worldcraft crashes and I'm back at my desktop. It does this no matter what compiling tools I'm using (I've tried ZHLT and the default compiling tools, both with the same result). And I've tried reinstalling WC.

Any suggestions?

Or am I just going crazy and there is just that many people checking the forums at any given time?
How often do you check the forums?
I check them about 6+ times a day (I know, I'm addicted :p )

Is there a way to 'rasturize' a blending effect so that it becomes one with the layer, instead of an applied effect?

For example, Say you have a shape with the blending effect of a 1pxl black stroke. Is there a way to merge the effect with the shape, so that the actual is now the shape with a black outline and you'd be able to erase some of the outline. When the shape still simply has a stroke effect, you can erase part of the shape and the outline will adjust to the new shape, I want the eraser to be able to erase the outline (as well as the shape)

I'm not looking for "Take a screenshot and paste it back in" lol

Umm... I've gotten myself into bit of a bind here. I'm with 3 girls, each are old friends. How do I get rid of some of them? ( :blink: that sounds weird).  One of them is kind of an afair considering that she's technically dating my best friend. Another one is really my ex and the third is a new girl that kinda just moved here...


Soo... How can I get myself out of this? I haven't been free in a while...

Mapping / Ns_richmond_at2 Review

Lots of pictures, so bear with me (I scrunched them all down to 600 pixels or less in width)

Here they are in no particular order (except the first one...)

1. Let's start with the readyroom. I noticed that you have 3 "signs" up to designate team choice entities. First off, Where's Random Team?? I miss my randomness  .  Anyways, I noticed that the TSA sign is significatly dimmer than the other 2. And what is that thing for spectate? Angel wings? for a flying spectator? maybe? (see pic)



2. The 3-way conveyor belt at Cargo Routing was moving at incredible speeds... and yet, I could stand still on it without any trouble...  Maybe the belts should be "broken" and not moving...



3. OW! My Eyes!!! [/size] Only after turning on my flashlight can I possible see where I'm going, I pity the flashlightless skulks...



4. This is supposed to be a dining hall, right? What happened to all the furniture? Did the onos get hungry for some meal scraps and end up eating the napkin too? (and the table, for that matter <_< ).  And why does it resemble more of a wading pool than a dining hall? I've made a few suggestions for furniture



5. Recreation.  Umm... Big open space... right... ampitheater? naaah... (ping pong pwns j00 :p )



6. Lab. I Love it  .   Some sort of electromification thinggymabober might fit right in here...



7. Possible vent site.  Connecting the lab to the hallway as shown on the minimap



8. Bob's Workplace!!  
(needs a mop bucket :lol: )



9. Bob's Sleeping Quarters, Where the janitor gets all his energy from ^_^
(for added effect, place a broom on the table )

Mapping / The Particle Challenge

Can you make a map with the following elements? (inspired by the environmental features of ns_hera)

A dripping ventillation fan:


Flickery holographic signs and symbols:


Some freaky edifice with fire beneath it that looks important:


A rotating shadow of a giant fan as if there was a light behind the fan
No pic of the shadow (doesn't turn out well through screenshots) but here's one of the fan that casts the shadow:






Just wondering if someone wanted to feel like they accomplished something...

Mapping / This Is A Stick-up

I'm trying to set up a basic map of NS, and I can't find a bunch of stuff.

Could someone please send me a complete RMF file so that I can study it?


BTW, I'm not new to mapping, I've made many intermediate to advanced maps for HL, HLDM, and TFC (all very fun to map with ^_^ )

OMG OMG OMG Oh My God!!!

I can't run NS! I'm freaking out! Like a cold-turkey drug adict!

Ok, so I run steam, that's fine, then I run NS. the NS background pops up, no menu items, my cursor shows the hourglass-of-ultimate-yet-delaying-computer-thinking.  after maybe a max of 20 seconds, HL dies and it poops me back to my desktop...

[EDIT] The same thing happens in WorldCraft/VHE/whatever v_v [/EDIT]

Any ideas?

BTW, this just started happening with this recent patch that I DLed through steam today

                                                  ...stupid steam...
